The championship game of the Stanford division, the top division, of the PBR Super 64 was what I call a good game because of the talent and intensity as the stars stepped up in a huge way. Close games do not always equate to good games, some have different views yet mine is what counts and so did the number of impact next level players I saw in this game alone so here we go
Mikaylah Williams-6’0 CG (Mavs Elite STRONG-Durham) Parkway HS 2023
Williams made yesterday’s Top Performer list and being on the Day 3 list has nothing to do with her being from where my family is from, Shreveport, LA or yesterday being her 16th birthday, it is because she went completely off on the court and solidified what I have previously said and even more as she is just "special" would be the simplest way to say it. Her pull-up jumper in the set or in transition, mid to long-range was just a work of art as she created her shot and got it off whenever she wanted yet her attacking the rim as well as seeing the floor also played a huge part in her team winning the top division, well so did her rebounding and defense
[player_tooltip player_id="150924" first="Darianna" last="Littlepage-Buggs"]-6’2 PF (Mavs Elite STRONG-Durham) Classen SAS HS 2022
Littlepage-Buggs midrange was so smooth when I caught her a few months ago yet her ability to just knock shots down with a hand in her face is going to be a problem for defenders at the next level because of her size and the fact that she elevates on her jumper. She sets the defender up nicely, she also slices to the basket from the wing and finishes strongly after contact but her rebounding on both ends, scoring off of putbacks as well as her defense was impressive
[player_tooltip player_id="160454" first="Jordan" last="Harrison"]-5’5 PG(Mavs Elite STRONG-Durham) Classen SAS HS 2022
Harrison is explosive off the dribble and blows by defenders with ease but she can also score by attacking the rim and finishing after contact or knock down the jumper, mid to long-range. She sees the floor very well and her crisp passes were on the money and so was her pressure defense which helped create baskets going the other way and the biggest thing is her intensity always stays the same
[player_tooltip player_id="197953" first="Jaida" last="O’Conner"]-6’1 SF (Mavs Elite STRONG-Durham) Classen SAS HS 2022
O’Conner is long and athletic, I often say "that’s the base" because college coaches love that profile, and the more you add to it, the more will like so her finishing by either rebounding on the offensive end and getting putbacks or attacking the basket and scoring was nice yet so was something I love to see, she plays the passing lane and that too led to baskets
Kaeli Romanowski-5’5 PG (NEPA Elite) Western Wayne HS 2022
Romanowski and her Pennsylvania teammates traveled for a reason and left a lasting impression as she handled the ball very well under extreme pressure, saw the floor, and made the right passes yet her ability to control the tempo also played a big part in them being "in it" and watching her take defenders off the dribble to score or dish was nice
Kylie Lavelle-6’2 PF (NEPA Elite) Riverside Jr/Sr HS 2022
Lavelle is long and athletic, yep that’s still the base, so seeing her take defenders off the dribble, with either hand at her size and finish was pretty good especially since she can finish with either hand but she also showed me she wasn’t finished as she dropped the jumper, mid to long-range and with her length as well as elevating on her shot, she got it off whenever she wanted
Ciera Toomey-6’3 SF (NEPA Elite) Dunmore HS 2023
Toomey will close it out like she does on the court and watching her shoot the ball kept me glued to my movable chair. She’s also long and athletic, creates the jumper with ease, and let me say this, I loved watching her shoot that ball because her release is quick, she can bring it right to the defender, come off the screen or one of my faves, catch and shoot, but she is one of the top prospects in her class and I truly saw why first hand
