War Games ATL Standouts Part 1

War Games ATL put on by Inside Exposure has not disappointed.  There have been some very competitive games, good plays and great coaching.  There are a lot of teams at this event, below are some of the standout players. <img class="alignnone size-medium wp-image-309657" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/07/A3D0ECD6-B6B8-4CE3-879F-9136B1F5E990-142x300.jpeg" alt="" width="142" height="300" /> [player_tooltip player_id="255943" first="Quiana" last="Vazquez"]-2022-BWSL Kelly 17U-5’6 Vazquez was all over the floor. Very active on the offensive and defensive end.  She plays with a lot of energy and noticeably ran to the bench during timeouts when others were walking.  She has a nice offensive package, able to get to the basket, shoot the 3 and ran the floor well for easy layups.  She created turnovers defensively with active hands and reading the passing lanes.  This young lady showed up ready to play in Atlanta. [player_tooltip player_id="218690" first="Tianna" last="Thompson"]-2024-A.O.T.- 5’10 This kid can go!!! She was playing up two years, got to the basket at will.  She can run the point guard position and play off the ball.  She is long, lean, very athletic and was active on both ends of the court.  She was the leading scorer with 21 points in her second game, constantly applies pressure to the defense with her ability to hit the three off the bounce, off screens and catch and shoot.  If you try and run her off the three point line, she attacks the rim hard and draws fouls.  This young lady was very impressive, college coaches should definitely have their eyes on her. [player_tooltip player_id="245283" first="Amari" last="Bonds"]-2023-TN Blazers-5’8 Amari is a combo guard, capable of handling point guard duties but was most effective scoring off the ball.  She has deep range on her 3, nice handles and made several nice reads in the half court.  Amari does not get rattled during games, she is physical with a strong body.  She led her team in scoring and made several big 3’s.  She does not get rattled when her shot isn’t falling and has the ability to impact the game in several ways. Zaniya Murray-2022-SLAAM-5’6 One of the best defenders in the tournament.  This kid plays with a chip on her shoulder.  She locks in defensively and you can tell she takes pride in shutting down top players.  Zaniya is as tough as they come, she is plays with a lot of emotion and responded very well to her coach.  Her focus is not scoring the ball  but don’t sleep on her, she can get a bucket.  She has no problem getting into the lane and has ability to hit the open jumper out to the three point line.  Her toughness is contagious. One of my favorite kids to watch!! [player_tooltip player_id="245212" first="Bailey" last="Burgess"]-2022-ETA Thunder-5’6 Solid point guard, handles the ball well, good decision maker.  Bailey also has a sweet stroke from the 3pt line.  She is patient with the ball, good passer and knows where her scorers are at all times.  Good defender, capable of playing off the ball as well.  Bailey is not the first player you notice when you watch this team; however, she is an important piece to their success.  She’s reliable, makes few mistakes and takes advantage of scoring opportunities.
