I have seen a lot of very memorable individual performances over the last 35 years playing, coaching, and covering basketball. Saturday night in the Final Four, [player_tooltip player_id='899789' first='Morghan' last='Reckley'] put on one of the most, if not the most, efficient individual scoring performances I can ever remember watching. It was against a Monroe team with THREE future high division one college basketball players. Two of which will probably finish ranked in the Top 50 in their classes nationally with [player_tooltip player_id='671764' first='Kie'Aundria' last='Acree'] and [player_tooltip player_id='1785915' first='Maleyah' last='Hines']. Taylor McInzy is the third player in the trio and is also a very good player. It didn't matter what Monroe did, Morghan had an answer on her way to scoring 48 points for Sandy Creek in every way imaginable. The three stars for Monroe played well, but Reckley, her sister Madison, and Freshman center [player_tooltip player_id='1280107' first='Kandyce' last='Hopkins'], were not going to denied in this game and their play put Sandy Creek in Macon with a chance to win a AAA state championship.

Morghan was very efficient scoring the 48 points, even the misses looked like they were going in and most could have resulting in a 55-60 point performance. Scoring 48 points efficiently while making it look easy against a team as big and talented as Monroe is almost unbelievable, but so is the fact that her elite speed and quickness is matched by her anticipation and instincts on the court to go with her insane talent. The thing that standouts to me is that she competes every play like she is playing for her next meal. She is on GO from the time ball is tipped until the final horn sounds every game. The fadeaway threes, viral ball handling, and insanely difficult finishes around the rim have made her a household name and she has all the game to back it up. As someone who sits very close to these games, I can say listening to her while she plays is just as, if not more, entertaining.

When you play with a player like Reckley, you are going to get thrown in deep water against the high level of competition that you will face. Players either sink or swim and Hopkins stepped her game in a big way for Sandy Creek on both ends of the court. She was very effective operating in the high post in the middle of Monroe's defense. She took and made shots confidently from 10-12 feet making her another threat for the Lady Tornadoes to deal with. Hopkins showed soft hands catching quick passes from Reckley and confidently laying the ball up and in. She had a huge impact on defense blocking multiple shots and altering several others. Kandyce has the chance to join the other elite freshmen in Georgia at the top of the rankings the next few years.

Madison has left it all on the court every time I have watched her play this season. She plays with relentless pursuit of the ball whether she is defending or rebounding and her that effort and energy is a big reason why Sandy Creek will play for a state championship. Reckley literally wrecks things for opposing offenses with active hands and feet on the ball and denying her man in help defense. She does a great job leaving her man at the right time to get steals from behind. Reckley shoots the ball well consistently from the mid-range and three point line and is very opportunistic on the offensive rebounds where she gets a couple put backs seemingly every game. She also consistently gets baskets in transition on the fast break.

KJ started the game off with purpose and confidence on the ball pushing the pace and looking to find open teammates for easy baskets. She did a nice job facilitating before looking for her own shot. When she did she was very impressive and effective getting to the midrange and paint and burying shots in traffic from the spots she loves. Acree has the skill and ability to play the point guard position in college and she looked very comfortable and confident in that role early. As the game went on, Acree had to score to keep her team in the game and she did for a while finishing the game with 20 points. I expect her stock and recruitment to ascend nationally as she is featured and plays on the Puma circuit her last AAU Spring and Summer.

In a game at times that look like it was between two division one college teams, McKinzy stood out with her length and athleticism on defense and rebounding the ball which are things she has always done well. Her shooting in this game was excellent from distance as she knocked down multiple threes with poise and calm when the game was being played at a very high pace. McKinzy is an excellent slasher to the basket as well and combined with her ability to knock down long range shots makes her a player to watch in the class of 2027 in Georgia. She finished the game with 22 points.

Hines finished the game with 23 points leading Monroe in scoring. The battle inside with her and her fellow freshman six footer Hopkins was potentially a glimpse into the future of Georgia post play as both players are turning potential into production at the right time for their teams. Both players move extremely well and use their length and wingspans to great effect. Hines has very good quickness and is bouncy around the rim. She gets up high and does it fast making her hard to block out and equally hard to defend. If she can consistently knock down shots from 10-12 feet, then Hines will be a Power Four player in college. This is something she should be able to do as she showed good form and follow through making shots at the free throw line.
