The 2021 National Championship ran the final 3 days of the July eval period from July 23-25. The event welcomed 400+ teams from all over the country competing in 17U division all the way down to 11U. Here are some of the top players in the 2024 and 2025 classes from Day 3.
2024
Kristen Balser 5’10 Shooting Guard – East Coast United Family
Balser is a young, long wing who played up 2 years to the 17U division. She can put the ball to the floor from the wing and attack the basket either getting all the way to the rim or pulling up for the mid-range jump shot. Her skill level is mature beyond her age!
Jonise Barcene 5’4 Guard – East Coast United Family
Barcene is an active point guard who is small but has a ton of fight. I love her intensity and energy. She looks to push the ball and play up tempo as much as possible, passes the ball ahead to open players, and does a good job getting into the paint and drawing defenders.
Jakai Peterson 5’4 Guard – East Coast United Family
Small, quick guard who is a slasher and penetrator. She can take her defender off the dribble with her quick first step and good open court moves and ball handling skills.
2025
Sumayah McIntosh 5’9 Guard / Wing – Candace Parker Hoop Dreams Elite
McIntosh was one of many talented perimeter players on the young 2025 Candace Parker Hoop Dreams Elite squad. She has a strong build and plays even stronger. She attacks the basket and finishes well vs contact at the rim. Her strong build and broad shoulders allow her to take contact when putting the ball to the floor as a penetrator and taking the hit while still attacking the basket. Played with a knee brace and did not appear to be 100% fully healthy. Curious to see her again at full strength.
Symonique Simon 5’6 Guard – Candace Parker Hoop Dreams Elite
Strong, athletic combo guard who contributed on both ends of the floor. She thrived in the up-tempo pace of the game – applying full court pressure and pushing the ball in transition. She is a downhill guard who attacks the paint and can finish high at the rim.
Serena Ross 5’10 Wing / Forward – Candace Parker Hoop Dreams Elite
Tall, athletic, versatile wing player who was Candace Parker Hoop Dreams Elite best player from what I saw. She filled up the stat sheet with points, rebounds, blocks, rebounds, and assists showcasing her all-around game. Her tall, athletic frame is impressive for a player who has yet to enter high school. She has a high upside and will be a player to watch for the future!
Naomi Parker 5’8 Point Guard – Candace Parker Hoop Dreams Elite
Parker is a big, young point guard who was one of the many talented perimeter players on the 2025 Candace Parker Hoop Dreams Elite squad. She scored both at the rim and from the outside. Her unique combination of size and athleticism for such a young player, will give her an opportunity to be a special player in the future. Her upside is tremendous.
Anilys Rolon Anilys Rolon 5'9" | SG Dr Phillips | 2025 State FL 5’9 Guard – Candace Parker Hoop Dreams Elite
The stable is full at the perimeter spots for Candace Parker Hoop Dreams Elite 2025 squad. Out came one perimeter player and in came another perimeter player, picking up right where the last one left off. Rolon showcased her big, athletic frame playing both guard spots. She actively contributed on both ends of the floor and has excellent scoring ability.
Dianka Hardisson Dianka Hardisson 5'5" | PG Somerset Academy Silver Palms | 2025 State FL 5’6 Guard – Florida Lady Huskies
Hardisson is one of my favorite young players as she can shoot the crap out of the ball and plays with a ton of moxy. Her energy is infectious, and her range is ridiculous! I have seen very few players if any that have the 3-point range she does at her age to go along with her court presence. She is very comfortable with the ball in her hands and is equally as good of a passer as she is a scorer.
