6 Players Who Impressed at Hoops4MS 2021 All-Star Event

On Saturday, BrolyLewisMedia held its Hoops4MS 2021 event at the Mickey Walker Center in Elizabeth, New Jersey, with talented high school girl basketball players from New Jersey, New York and Pennsylvania comprising the teams of Team Care and Team Love.
Team Love dribbled away with the 98-90 victory over Team Love.
Here are the six New Jersey high school girls basketball players who shined on the hardwood at the charity all-star tournament.
Madison St. Rose Madison St. Rose 5'10" | PG St. John Vianney | 2022 State #65 Nation NJ — Saint John Vianney (NJ)/Philly Rise
St. Rose–who plays for NJ hoops power Saint John Vianney, and is committed to Princeton Univeristy–drained a game-best 26 points, displaying her stellar outside range by banging home five shots from behind the arc for Team Love.
A rising senior combo guard, the 5-foot-10 lefty, who played AAU ball for Philly Rise, proved why she is one of the best players in the Garden State, dazzling on both ends of the floor.
Gabriella Ross — Donovan Catholic High School (NJ)/NY Rens
Ross, who plays for Donovan Catholic High School in Toms River, scored 21 points for Team Care.
Ross, who also suits for the AAU NY Rens, is a tough, gritty rising junior guard whose standout skillset was on display Saturday afternoon.
With two years left to her high school hoops career, there is every reason to believe that Ross will only improve.
Kayla Perez — St. Thomas Aquinas (NJ)
Perez, a rising senior guard, poured in 12 points for Team Love. But that was the only part of her production story.
Since tournament officials only tracked scoring stats, it was tough to gauge other vital elements of the game. However, she was actively dishing out dimes, and played a solid defense.
Perez, who suited up for Morris Catholic last season, is garnering an ample amount of college recruiting attention at the moment, per her mom.
Therefore, it will be interesting to see where she winds up in the end.
Katherine (Kay) Donahue — Rutgers Prep (NJ)/NJ Belles
Donahue displayed a look of game-face toughness that was unmatched by any other player. And it is fitting, because the Lafayette commit was rugged and balled as if she had something to prove.
She tailed 18 points for Team Care.
Jaylin Hartman Jaylin Hartman 6'2" | SF Blair | 2023 State NJ — Blair Academy (NJ)/NJ Sparks
Hartman dropped in ten points for Team Love.
Additionally, she showed off her nice stroke, and used her 6-foot-2 frame well to position herself for rebounds.
Hartman is a long, lean rising junior guard/wing at one of the finest high school hoop programs in New Jersey, Blair Academy. But the Lady Buccaneers did not play last season due to COVID-19, so she has taken full advantage of her impressive AAU season with the NJ Sparks.
Gabby Recinto Gabby Recinto 5'10" | SF Cherokee | 2023 State NJ — Cherokee/Exodus 16U
Sure, Recinto scored just four points, but when she realized her shot was not fallen, the 5-foot-10 rising junior wing switched to concentrating on grabbing rebounds and playing a stellar defense, locking up her foe when she was on the floor.
That is a telltale sign of basketball maturity. Additionally, Recinto owns good self-awareness, something that could be credited to her black belt in American Kenpo, and she is top notch student.
