Arizona 5A – Top Returning Points-Per-Game Leaders: Part 1

With the high school basketball season just around the corner, it is important to take a look back at some of the standout performers of the 2020-2021 - 5A Division in Arizona. With such a talented group of teams and players, it was hard to narrow this list down to only just a couple of parts. There is a lot of returning young talent that will be sure to impress those who know the game. Below are just a few of the top returning points-per-game leaders from last season. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="208047" first="Reilly" last="Clark"] - Junior - SG - Catalina Foothills HS - 20.4 PPG </strong> Reilly is returning this season as a junior to lead her high school team, the Catalina Foothills Falcons, through a tough upcoming conference schedule in the 5A division in the state of Arizona. She is at the top of our list for the best returning players with the highest points-per-game average during the 2020-2021 basketball season. With an impressive stat of <strong>20.4 PPG, </strong>Clark scored the third-most points in the conference (204), only behind two graduating seniors. I would bet that her first season as an upperclassman will not disappoint! Do we think that she can outscore herself this year? <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="261400" first="Kiley" last="Miller"] - Junior - C - Centennial HS - 16.6 PPG </strong> Miller truly excels all over the court when she is in the game. With all of her statistics from last season exceeding the national averages, everyone needs to keep a close eye on incoming junior, center for the Centennial Coyotes. Coming into the second-place spot for most points-per-game from last season, Kiley dominated the offensive end of the floor averaging <strong>16.6 PPG </strong>and a total of 283 points. She has had an entire year to grow her game, so I hope to see even more confidence from her during her minutes. She has the stats to prove her game is good. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="259205" first="Trinity" last="Flores"] - Senior - G - Williams Field HS - 15.0 PPG </strong> With an elite average of <strong>15.0 PPG, </strong>Trinity is able to gain the respect that she deserves on the floor. Shooting 45% throughout the entire season is a tough thing to accomplish, especially in a conference that is so jam-packed with talent. Flores is coming back for one last go-around to compete for her high school, the Williams Field Black Hawks, in their upcoming season. After scoring 150 points last year combined with the momentum she must have for her last time playing high school ball, I think that she will continue to stand out amongst the rest. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="259207" first="Caidyn" last="Spickler"] - Senior - PG/G - Canyon View HS - 14.6 PPG </strong> Returning for her senior year, Caidyn has been a standout for the Canyon View Jaguars. She finished last season with a total of 204 points over 14 games played. With a standout game against a talented Agua Fria group, Spickler was able to boost her points-per-game average to <strong>14.6.</strong> Being a veteran of this team, she knows the ends and outs of what it will take to secure the win for her team. Impressive performances throughout the entire season to earn the fourth spot on the list of the top returners. <strong>[player_tooltip player_id="214594" first="Kaisha" last="Henry"] - Senior - G/F - Verrado HS - 14.1 PPG </strong> Coming into the fifth position on the list for top returning points-per-game leaders, Henry finished last season with an average of <strong>14.1 PPG </strong>while managing to score a total of 253 points! She is and has been one of the top-rated players in the state of Arizona during her time in high school so I hope she gives it her all in these last few games. Kaisha will be a threat to any team that they come up against on both ends of the floor. She is also surrounded by other talented players to help her accentuate her skills constantly. This Verrado Viper's squad is one to watch this season!!
