Continue ReadingI had never been to Killeen and as I get older, I always jump at going to new places if feasible so when having a chance to do something with Marissa (Pass Tha Ball) I’m all on t since our first collaboration back in 2013 with Hoop A Holics, you can use the search bar on my website as well as blog and see some of the “Who’s Who” of players who have received a legitimate evaluation that went on to play at not only the next level, this includes Division 1 and beyond as Charli Collier was at the first one, you know, the first pick in this seasons WNBA draft so that gave me an idea, I’ll drop something on some versatile players around “the magic number” I caught, here ya go
Anna Beamesderfer-6’1 F (Belton HS) Supergirls (2022)
Beamesderfer not only gave me a last name I had never heard but an all-around game I had never seen and after asking her which club teams she had played for, the ones she named rarely turned in a roster or turned in erroneous so I kept in moving so I was elated to actually see her in action. In the skills session, she showed good moves around the basket as well as the midrange however when the bright lanes came on, she went completely off, especially toward the end of the event adding the “long-range” into the equation
Taleiyah Gibbs-6’0 F (Killeen HS) AD Elite (2023)
Gibbs has the same last name as one of my favorite TV characters (NCIS) yet her mystery on not being on Top 100 will be solved on the next upgrade because she’s long and athletic and just left me somewhat in awe at some of the things she did effortlessly. I love #THROWBACK stuff because the game has changed more so than I have so watching players go after the ball off the rim s pleasing for me, especially when they finish consistently on putbacks, after the lick
Janeen Lashley-Hill-5’10 F (Union Grove HS) Texas United 2025
Lashley-Hill has the potential to be climbing up the Hill because of her upside. See above regarding #THROWBACK and you’ll get where I’m going but not only was her rebounding impressive, I love how she adjusted on the defensive size, moving her feet well in the paint and using her body but she also does a good job reading “the switch” outside the paint and after seeing her for the very first time, that combined with her age, she’s definitely on my radar
Arionna Patterson-5’10 F (Louisiana HS) Louisiana United 2025
Patterson may not be related to Floy but she definitely was a knockout the first time I saw her and as I use someone who was boxing before I was born in my “play on words” her play on the court was overly impressive yet I caught her earlier at Houston Summer Slam and she gave me an eyeful because #OurGirlsPlay and she definitely is one of the Louisiana standouts yet her performance was simply “off the chart” #D1Lock
