In this article, we’ll be talking about the fourth, fifth and sixth best 2023 prospects in the state according to the PGH NJ udpate.
Emma Peretti Emma Peretti 5'11" | PF Hammonton | 2023 State NJ – PF, Hammonton
Peretti built off what was a fantastic freshman season with an even better sophomore campaign, putting up double-double averages for the first time in her career. She was one of the most dominant forwards in the state this spring and for good reason.
Starting with her offense, Peretti is one of the best at creating space in the lane for scoring opportunities. She moves incredibly well for a forward and pushes the tempo on offense to score. On defense, it’s much of the same as she crashes the boards incredibly well, hauling in rebounds and boxing out opponents.
She is a fantastic shot-blocker and is also someone who makes opponents uncomfortable as she guards them, making them force up bad shots. Peretti is destined for another fantastic season with Hammonton as a junior.
Alexis Davis Alexis Davis 6'0" | SF Woodbury | 2023 State NJ – SF, Glassboro
Davis was an absolute dominant and unstoppable force in her sophomore season at Glassboro, posting 28 PPG and 17 RPG averages, one of the best marks in the state without a question.
To post nearly 30-20 numbers in high school is a mark not many have achieved, and Davis was able to do this as a sophomore. She’s already set the bar high for herself, but this Glassboro team should be a roster full of talent this fall.
If Davis can do what she’s done so far in her high school career, her junior season has the potential to garner national attention and some big time offers. Either way, expect a big season from her.
Isabella Asencio Isabella Asencio 5'4" | PG Immaculate Heart Academy | 2023 State NJ – 5-6 PG, Immaculate Heart
Asencio has really made waves during this most recent summer AAU season with United NJ’s 17U team as one of the best all-around players in the NJ AAU circuit.
She’s really developed a fantastic all-around game, showing off an ability to shoot from the perimeter as well as drive into the lane and finish strong. Along with that, she’s a smart player and a precision passer.
Combine that all and you have one of the top junior point guards in the state and someone who will be making headway for Immaculate Heart this upcoming high school season. Watch out for Asencio in a big way to make some big moves.
We’re continuing to push out content for PGH NJ’s updated 2023 prospect rankings, so stay tuned for more.
