These reports are going to be based on some film that these players have generously provided. With that video, these are the takeaways that I had after viewing these players’ individual games.
Kyla Hendricks ’23- Bay port High School – This 5’8 guard has a silky smooth jumper that she isn’t afraid of whenever she can. Her jumper is consistent whether she is spotting up with half the floor to herself, or if she has a defender taking away any airspace. The other part of her game that jumps out is her toughness on the defensive end. She is willing and able to pick up her defender the second they cross the halfcourt line and make their lives miserable, at times getting steals on opposing lead guards. Another part of her defensive game, which coaches should love, is her willingness to step in and earn an extra possession and stop by taking a charge.
Lindsey Nell ’24 – Winnebago Lutheran – A young 5’10 forward who does a lot of their damage down low in a variety of ways is a very interesting prospect yet to make their varsity debut at the time of writing. She is a very comfortable cutting block to block and has good hands when it comes to making catches in traffic. With her ability to catch the ball very well she does an awesome job at making sure she keeps the ball high and away from pesky guards trying to swipe at it as they collapse defenses on her. She will have some work to do to earn a rotation spot on a team coming off an undefeated conference season and an overall 21-1 record, but she has the talent to do it and she is definitely one to keep an eye on in the Fox Valley Region.
Megan Alexander Megan Alexander 6'1" | C Freedom | 2022 State WI ’22 – Freedom High School – The 6’1 forward/center is a very heady player who just has a knack for being in the right place at the right time. A lot of this has to do with her doing her work early and getting a position on her opponents early. This can be by getting her defender under the rim earning a prime spot for an offensive rebound, filling the lane on a fastbreak properly, or utilizing her ability to shoot as a threat when it comes to screening and fading behind the line for a three. This is a player without many holes in her game, she is a very versatile offensive player who will help a team at the next level.
Madilyn Dogs Madilyn Dogs 6'0" | CG Kewaskum | 2023 State WI ’23 – Kewaskum High School – This player is a large 5’11 guard who is mainly a slasher, with the quirk that she is willing to make lethal passes to hit cutters or spot-up three-point shooters. She is obviously a gifted athlete who covers a lot of ground every stride and when she gathers and goes to the rim she covers even more ground. Defensively one could only imagine the trouble she would give smaller guards trying to score and just make a simple pass. If she can figure out how to just organize herself on her jumper she has the chance to make a large leap, but definitely a very useful player where she is right now with room to grow.
