Mattie Walburn, 5-8 2024, Jackson
Showed a lot of positive aggressive play and was always moving effectively for her team. Was able to get into position without the ball and was key for her team. She is a smart player with a good basketball IQ, knows what she needs to do to help her team. Showed nice handles, able to play solid defense and is creative.
Emma Sayre, 5-2 2024, Portsmouth West
Really loved her game the way she is a true pass-first point guard. She is small in stature but she can play and is fearless the court. She is very fundamental and does the little things very well for her team. Emma (feature photo above, courtesy of SCOH50) has sharp handles and makes good decisions with the ball. She isn’t afraid of mixing it up if needed, will look to slash to the rim at the right times. She is a sparkplug.
Kylee Bruce, 5-11 2024, Fairland
This Fairland sophomore is a long and lanky forward who loves to run the floor in transition, knows where to be and spaces the floor well. Excellent with her fundamentals, sets the pick well and help create for her team. She is able to catch and score in the paint, or get to the rim and finish.
Daysha Reed, 5-5 2025, Portsmouth
Coach Amy Hughes will be counting on big things from her point guard when she steps onto the floor as a freshman. She will deliver with very solid fundamentals and is a good pick-and-roll player with excellent handles. She has very good court vision, including north-south in transition. Athletic and can defend on-ball well nicely. Has good range behind the arc.
KK Mays, 5-7 2026, Portsmouth
Another player that Portsmouth will be relying on when she gets to the high school level. She was one of the younger players in the Showcase, and looks to bring a great addition to the program. She showed a good perimeter game with good court awareness.
