Those who were in attendance saw some talented young ladies, lay it all out on the line for one final time to close out the 2021 summer schedule. Tennessee clubs such as Tennessee Flight, Tennessee Sol, Tennessee Shooters, Stars Basketball Club, EAB Tennessee, Tennessee Pride, Team Elite Nashville, and Tennessee Flight Select, represented the state as they laced their sneakers up one more time. The girls didn’t disappointed, as coaches jotted down notes to follow up on prospects they saw.
Throughout the course of the event, some girls took strides as they stayed true to form to what they had been doing all summer long. School may be back in session, but these girls continued to show coaches that this state is rich in talent. No matter the month, season, time, or place, Tennessee girls will always come ready to perform and ball out. Congrats to Stars Basketball Club, Tennessee Shooters, TN Team Pride, and Tennessee Flight Silver for taking the championship in their perspective brackets. Most importantly, congrats and good luck to those female student-athletes who competed and represented the state of Tennessee. We here at PGH Tennessee appreciated all that you accomplished during the 2021 summer travel ball season.
Here are some notable standouts from The Last Dance.
Cori Allen (5’10/ CG/ Montverde Academy/ Tennessee Flight/ Class of 2023)– Suited up one final time for the Tennessee Flight program at The Last Dance. This nationally ranked guard put on a show throughout the course of the weekend. She displayed a plethora of different moves as she made her way to the cup time and time again. This guard has such a connection with her teammates that they didn’t miss a beat after having some time off. She transfers from Hillsboro to Montverde Academy carrying a lot of accolades with her down to Florida. Though she may be gone from the state, she will rep us the remainder of her career.
Zyion Shannon Zyion Shannon 5'7" | CG Stewart's Creek | 2022 State TN (5’8/ CG/ Stewart’s Creek/ EAB Tennessee/ Class of 2022)– This young lady has flown under the radar and will hopefully land on a college roster sooner rather than later. This shifty guard can shoot from multiple levels, change speeds to get to the rim, and can contribute on the defensive end. Zyion posted double figures in points and brought down 5+ rebounds in multiple games. She has a great feel for the game and can see the floor well. She will be an asset and a game changer to any club looking to add an impact player.
Imari Berry Imari Berry 5'10" | SG Clarksville | 2024 State TN (5’10/ CG/ Clarksville/ Tennessee Sol/ Class of 2024)- This talented combo guard is garnishing some big-time eyes. Receiving offers from a handful of D1 schools over the course of the summer, Imari is poised to get better as she continues to play. She is a dynamic player who can do it all for her club. This swiss army knife can get to the rim, establish a mid-range game, and unleash from downtown. Her length creates havoc on the defensive end as she pokes balls loose, gets deflections, and anticipates. She is also on the boards on both ends of the floor. Look for her to establish herself even more throughout the course of her HS career.
AC Milam (5’9/ SG/ Dickson Co./ Stars Basketball Club/ Class of 2023)– This young lady is tough. She is a shooter that can knock down shots from anywhere on the floor. Leading her club in scoring in every game during the tournament, AC looks to carry her 2021 summer circuit campaign into the high school season. She is a smart player who knows when to attack. She can feed the posts and relocate, creating buckets both beyond the arc and the short corners. Look for her stock to rise as she goes into the high school season.
Bre’Aria Cannon Bre’Aria Cannon 6'0" | SG Link Academy | 2024 MO (5’11/ SF/ MTCS/ Tennessee Flight/ Class of 2024)– Steady. This young baller is a quiet assassin. Bre plays the game with poise, not seeming to get rattled at anything. Her long frame creates havoc on the defensive end where she clogs up lanes and controls boards. Offensively, she always seems to have mismatches as she can play both inside and on the perimeter. She can handle the rock as well as shoot from multiple levels on the floor. Her stock is going nothing but up as she continues to be a threat for her team.
Annalise Malone(6’0/ PF/ Lincoln Co./ Stars Basketball Club Class of 2022)- A sensational talent that is a lunch pail kind of gal. Annalise posts a double-double in both scoring and rebounds every time she steps on the floor. She has great footwork and is a threat inside the arc. The painted area is her real estate as she establishes presents on both ends of the floor. With a 4.4 PGA and a 30 ACT, clubs that are looking for a heady and smart student-athlete need to dial this young lady up.
Dalaina Martin (5’8/ SG/ Greeneville/ Tennessee Shooters/ Class of 2023)– This young lady was on fire this weekend as she helped lead her team to multiple victories including the championship. Ms. Martin plays with poise, has a great touch on her shot as she can unleash it from multiple levels. She is a hustler who can get it done on both ends of the floor. Look for her to make huge strides as she steps into this HS ball season. She will be on the radar of schools for sure.
