Over the July “live period,” I was able to see a lot of good players from the First Coast perform against some of the best talent in the country in Louisville, Ky, and Orland, FL. A lot of players from the First Coast participated at other venues around the country. Below are the top 2022 performers from the summer “live” tournaments.

Dyllan Hanna 2022 (ECU/Bartram High School) emerged as the hottest 2022 recruit on the First Coast and one of the hottest recruits in the State of Florida. Hanna received numerous offers after her performances in Louisville and Orlando during the college live period. Her game took a major leap forward over the live period. She was very good defensively in the paint and a few times even dominant on the offensive end. Hanna was also impressive in transition as well. At 6’4,” she can cover ground on a court with good speed. As the live period continued, Hanna’s game and confidence seemed to rise.

Jasmine Jackson 2022 (ECU/Andrew Jackson High School) “crushed it” during the live period. She entered the live period with little notoriety and exited as a name to be remembered. Jackson also ended the live period with several D-1 offers and major interest from a lot of colleges. Jackson showed the ability to shoot the three and showed her “bread and butter” open court game all throughout the summer. Jackson’s athleticism was on full display with her explosive moves to the basket, change of direction moves, and double-pump layups. She also performed well on the defensive end, matching up against some of the top guards in the country.

Emily McIntosh Emily McIntosh 5'11" | SF St. Augustine | 2022 State FL 2022 (ECU) was also a top performer during the college live period. Her performances were consistent in all 4 “live” tournaments she competed in. She showed her ability to knock down down 3s and break ankles on penetrations to the basket. At 5’10, the left-handed combo guard seemed to get to the basket at will and when she wasn’t getting to the goal she was dishing to teammates for some easy baskets. At 5’10, McIntosh is one of the most versatile guards on the First Coast and she is going to be a nightmare against high school defenses.

Janiya Jackson (ECU/St Augustine High School) entered the live period with something to prove. She played backup center behind one of the hottest recruits in the State in Dyllan Hanna, who received multiple major college offers before, during, and after the live period. There were a few games during the live period where Jackson showed her potential. In one game, she grabbed nearly 15 rebounds and recorded close to 5 blocked shots, and scored in double digits.  College coaches were watching and subsequently, Jackson has already given a verbal commitment to play on the next level.

Tai Baldwin (ECU/ University Christian) started out slow in the live period, but during Splash and National Championship in Orlando, it all came together for her. Baldwin showed the ability to knock down the three, shoot from the mid-range, take it to the goal with authority, and feed the ball to the “bigs”. One of the most impressive attributes of Baldwin’s game shown in Orlando was her speed. She used her speed to get loose balls, get offensive rebounds, cut off drives to the goal, and take charges as well.

Zoriah Mobley Zoriah Mobley Zoriah Mobley 5'9" | SG San Jose Prep | 2022 State FL 2022 (KA Nightmares/San Jose Prep) received an offer after a good showing during the college live period.
