It’s time. The class of 2024 rankings just dropped last week. The crazy thing about it, the girls on the list are ready to take the next steps towards helping their school squads accomplish their goals of winning state. The hard work isn’t complete, but the process has begun. In a couple of months, these girls are ready to lace’em up. They are ready to shoot it, pass it, score it, defend it, and leave all their blood, sweat, and tears on the floor. This class is special. One that will have prospects littered throughout all divisions of college basketball once they graduate. In this article, you will find some newbies who have risen to be put on our Class of 2024 rankings. Girls who have gotten into the gym and added tools to their tool belt. Whether they were seen on the circuit, at a fall league, or just grinding it out during a workout, PGH Tennessee leaves no stone unturned as we go out and identify some of Tennessee’s best. Though everyone isn’t listed, here is a big shout-out to the young ladies who have sacrificed something to be better. This is a testament to their fortitude in taking their game to the next level. Ladies and gentlemen, as we continue to follow this class over the next few years, here are some Newcomers to keep your eyes on. [player_tooltip player_id="290946" first="Kayla" last="Lee"] (5’7, PG, Franklin Christian Academy) - This young lady has taken huge strides over the course of the summer. The light bulb went off and she is in “Go” mode all day, every day. Kayla is a hustler. A lockdown defender who can get in her opponent’s grill the full length of the court. She anticipates well, knows how and when to strike to get hands-on the ball, and finishes going the other way. Offensively, she is a great ball-handler who can get to the painted area to finish against contact or pull up to shoot the mid-range. [player_tooltip player_id="290998" first="Kendall" last="Myree"] (6’2, C, Clarksville Northwest)- Another late bloomer, this kid is gonna be a beast one day. The potential is there, and sooner or later, the cream will rise to the top. Kendall has a great presence offensively in the painted area. From grabbing boards and doing put-backs, nice finishing moves around the blocks, and her mid-range is improving. She is awesome in the 2 man game and can finish against contact. Defensively, she is an enforcer. Someone who can block shots, control the painted area, and defend smaller opponents. Skies are the limit for this young lady. [player_tooltip player_id="326745" first="Natalie" last="White"] (5’4, SG, CPA)- This underdog is the heart and soul of any club she plays on. She is a hard worker who is determined to compete. Natalie is a sharpshooter from beyond the arc, but will also pull up in the mid-range area. She has great instincts that allow her to make split-second decisions to either knock her shot down or find an open teammate. She plays the game with her heart on her sleeve and will do anything the coaches ask her to do. The more court time she gets, the more her confidence will build up. [player_tooltip player_id="290725" first="Carly" last="Brock"] (5’9, SF, ECS)- Heady player who isn’t afraid to mix it up guarding someone down low or on the perimeter. Defensively, Carly has quick hands and feet that allow her to get into positions to create extra possessions for her team. She contributes on the glass, which she can also start transition breaks. Offensively, she is a multi-level scorer who can get to the rim. Girls who aren’t carefully guarding this young lady may find themselves in foul trouble. As her minutes on the court increase, look for her to add more to her game. [player_tooltip player_id="290956" first="Annabelle" last="Singleton"] (5’6, PG, Huntingdon)- This youngster just loves to play the game of basketball. A hard worker who is becoming a multi-level scorer. She sees the floor well, providing ample opportunities for her teammates to score. She’s a heady player who knows when to attack or pull it back to set up an offense. Defensively, she pokes balls away, leading to easy buckets. Great kid with a bright future ahead of her. [player_tooltip player_id="291047" first="Amy" last="Elliott"] (5’6, PG, Franklin)- The energizer bunny. Amy plays the game of basketball with a high motor all the time. She is like a Chris Paul mold where she can control the outcome of the game. Offensively, she knows when to attack, pull it back, knows who is hot, knows how to facilitate the ball. She can shoot it from beyond the arc, draw contact down low, or hit a nice little pull-up. Defensively, she’s in stealth mode, her cat-like reflexes allows her to poke and prod balls away from her opponents. A coach’s dream, she will execute whatever needs to be done on the court. [player_tooltip player_id="245364" first="Maddie" last="Newman"] (6’1, C, Gatlinburg Pittman)- With a great low post presence, she dominates the painted area. Offensively, she has great footwork and can execute a plethora of moves with her back to the basketball. She knows how to use her body to bury her opponents deep into the paint. She has established a nice face-up game, which allows her to utilize a quick first step. Defensively, she is a heady player who can block shots or even wall up against her opponents. She is going to take away the painted game, that’s for sure. She is a great rebounder who knows how to get the ball out quickly to start transition breaks.
