Dayton Shootout (Session 1) Top 2022- Part 2

The Dayton Shootout was divided into two sessions last weekend, and this week we are taking a look at the kids in the morning session. Today a look at some more seniors. Later this week, some of the other classes as nearly 100 players were in attendance. <span style="font-family: ’arial black’, sans-serif;"><strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;"><img class="size-medium wp-image-291828 alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/05/Mara-Briscoe-2.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="200" />[player_tooltip player_id="312667" first="Mara" last="Briscoe"], 5-7 2022, Little Miami</span></strong></span> This is the kind of kid every coach wants on their team. She plays with a fiery passion and you can tell her intensity on defense carries over to her offense. She will let it fly from behind the arc and keep you on your toes when penetrating. Her quick feet allow her to blow by defenders for hard finishes at the rim. She will be great at the next level. <em>(pictured left)</em> <span style="font-family: ’arial black’, sans-serif; font-size: 14pt;"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="312665" first="Malerie" last="Ross"], 6-2 2022, Brookville</strong></span> Love her length as she sets the tone in the paint. Long arms and good footwork allows her to block a lot of shots. Rebounds the ball well and able to see up the floor and initiate the break. Runs the floor pretty well, not afraid to play in an uptempo style of game. Able to contribute and knock down shots from the perimeter with good range. <span style="font-family: ’arial black’, sans-serif;"><strong><span style="font-size: 14pt;">Morgan Riemenschneider, 6-0 2022, Fairfield</span></strong></span> Morgan shows a great presence in the post. She can give guards great passes and allow her team to have an inside and outside game. She puts herself in a great position to be a strong helpside defender in the paint. Keep allowing her strength and size to be an offensive threat for her team. <span style="font-size: 14pt; font-family: ’arial black’, sans-serif;"><strong><img class="size-medium wp-image-325780 alignleft" src="https://prephoops-uploads.s3.amazonaws.com/pgh/uploads/2021/09/54-Claudia-Harrington.jpg" alt="" width="300" height="200" />[player_tooltip player_id="312669" first="Claudia" last="Harrington"], 5-8 2022, Covington</strong></span> Claudia <em>(pictured left) </em>displays many great qualities of a point guard at the next level. She is quick, controls the ball under pressure, and shows craft with her penetration to the basket. Her speed allows her to lock down her offensive opponent at the top of the key. She has high IQ and she is not afraid of the strong attack in the paint. Very enjoyable to watch and will be a strong offensive threat on her team this season. <span style="font-size: 14pt; font-family: ’arial black’, sans-serif;"><strong>[player_tooltip player_id="92529" first="Brinn" last="Hunt"], 5-10 2022, Toledo Central Catholic</strong></span> Hunt will show you she can play every position on the court. Her size and strength allow her to post up a small guard on the block or have a mismatch on the perimeter for a shot or strong attack. She is flat out physically and mentally tough while showing she is a natural leader on the floor. She is a great addition to the next level. <em>(feature photo above)</em> <span style="font-size: 14pt; font-family: ’arial black’, sans-serif;"><strong>Brooke Thompson, 6-2 2022, Little Miami</strong></span> Brooke has so many great things to watch while she is on the floor. She is not only a big offensive threat in the post, but she has the ability to extend her defense and have them trying to keep up with her in transition. Her guards believe in her pick and roll game, where she is able to go up against contact and finish hard around the rim. Her strength has continued to improve, and she will be a great addition to a team at the next level.
