This past weekend’s Prep Girls Hoops Top 250 Expo welcomed standouts from a number of places from around the area – even a few from outside of South Carolina.
Around 80 participants had signed up to be part of the weekend’s event in Myrtle Beach. It gave them the opportunity to sharpen their skills on the court as well as be seen and evaluated by college coaches.
Here is a look at a few of the out of state standouts that caught our attention this weekend at the Rhodes Sports Center in Myrtle Beach.

[player_tooltip player_id="331897" first="Jada" last="Brown"] – 2025 – Richmond Hill HS (GA) – Prior to the beginning of any high school hoops season, a great deal of attention will be bestowed upon who stands out from an incoming freshman class. In Georgia basketball circles, Brown has a great chance to do just that. She is very accurate in draining 3-point shots and is not afraid to draw contact which will put her at the free throw line. One can tell she puts lots of emphasis on working hard at her ball handling skills. Brown also gives teams offensive production by driving to the basket for layups.

[player_tooltip player_id="331887" first="Danauje" last="Brooks"] – 2025 – Grace Christian School (Sanford) – Brooks has that same chance to shine as part of North Carolina’s. She is a very dynamic point guard with a very diverse skill set. Brooks possesses plenty of ball handling and dribbling skills. She knows how to drive to the basket and score points. Brooks brings plenty of unselfish play to a team and has a pass-first attitude even when she is near the rim for a high-percentage shot. She was at the LBI Carolina Top 100 event in Concord also.
[player_tooltip player_id="331881" first="Makayla" last="Carney"] – 2024 – Dudley HS (Greensboro) – From two potential standouts from this year’s freshman class to someone who stood out from this past season’s freshman class. She proved throughout last year her prowess as a scorer. Look out for Carney on defense as she is a consistent threat to pry the rock away from an opposing ball handler. She clearly places a lot of emphasis on her rebounding efforts as well. Prep Girls Hoops saw Carney earlier this offseason back during the spring at the Insider Exposure Apache Memorial. Carney played her travel basketball with FBC Carolina Elite Mayo.
