Makayla Carney was constantly moving to get the open look whether she was inside the paint or she was coming up to set a screen for her teammates. She was an asset on both ends grabbing rebounds. She was making some nice moves flashing in and out of the paint to catch the pass and go to work earning some trips to the free throw line.

Makayla Carney was nice on the block using her box out skills to get the rebound or over the back calls on taller opponents. She had a solid up and under move creating a wide open look for her to bank it in off the glass. She hustled after loose balls saving the possession and finding her teammate. She found the openings flashing to the basket keeping her arms high for the ball.

Makayla Carney’s motor never stops on the basketball floor. She gives all she has on defense, she scores on offense, and she rebounds with urgency at all times. Carney has fantastic anticipation skills and averaged over 12 rebounds per game last season. Carney is a hustle player who scored over 13 points per night in 2022-2023. She is a talented 2025 who will play with Winston-Salem Christian this winter.

was ready to score some points off the pass after doing the work to get open. She was effectively cutting all over, and she was ready to put up her shot with each caught pass. She did a little bit of everything for her team, too, making smart screens for her teammates and getting inside for rebounds.
