West Salem ran away with the conference slightly last season and there is sure to be some form of a shake-up as there usually is with a new season. Now is the time to look at who will really shape the conference with their performances this coming season.
Linsey Lettner-5’4 G-’22-Gale-Ettrick-Trempealeau-: Lettner was the leading scorer in the conference a season ago putting up just over 18 points a game. She has a very sturdy jump shot where everything is very still outside of her shooting arm, which is very aesthetically pleasing. She also is very quick and comfortable using her off hand to drive to her left and attacking the defender’s right hip. With her game, it should be no shock that she will be up around the scoring leaders again.
Raechel Koenig-6’2 F-’22-Luther: Koenig has been a very handy big over her time just doing a solid job in every area. She protects the paint, led the conference in rebounds, and going into her senior season she will be poised to find whatever her best version of herself is and she’s going to help her team win some games.
Autumn Passehl-5’7 G-’23-Arcadia: Passehl’s calling card is her defense, and it’s a joy to watch. She has extremely quick feet and she keeps her chin on the ball. Overall you see the pride she takes in that part of the game and she plays with passion, and this shows when she dives on the floor and just makes winning plays. Her game will play anywhere because watching her film made me want to go and play basketball, so I can only imagine the lift her passion gives to her teammates.
Breah Golden-5’7 G-’23-Arcadia: A backcourt teammate of Passehl, Golden is a great yin to Passehl’s yang. All the passion that Passehl has defensively Golden can bring that offensively and as one of the top returning scorers in the conference, she is going to likely have a good scoring season again. She also has a very efficient scoring game and it’s on excellent volume as well so Arcadia will be a very fun team to watch on both ends this season.
