Last season Colfax was the winner and clear of runner-up Durand by 2 games in the end. With some returning players, Colfax looks to compete again in the conference. So the question is who will be the prominent names in this conference this season?
Madison Barstad-5’7 G-’22-Colfax: The returning player of the year in the conference Barstad is very much a jack of all trades master of none. She is a good scorer and rebounder who has the ability to defend her position at the rim and block some shots, along with getting a variety of steals. Overall she isn’t a player who jumps out as someone who’s crossing people over and putting them on the floor or taking crazy step-back three’s she’s just very plucky and contributes a ton to winning.
Maggie Glaus-’22-Plum City/Elmwood: The only double-double performer from a season ago averaging 15 points and 10 rebounds Glaus had an argument for that POY award a season ago. This season looks to be one where Glaus can cap off her high school career with an equally dominant performance that hopefully leads to conference success for her and her team.
Tori Blaskowski-5’3 G-’23-Elk Mound: Blaskowski may be one of my favorite players I have looked at numbers-wise. She is a small guard who is among her conferences leaders in scoring and she also gets her hands dirty by notching almost three steals a game. She is the definition of a hard-nosed player and overall just a statistical anomaly that most people should be able to appreciate.
Mara Ducklow-G-’24-Spring Valley: The story for Ducklow is one that is important for Spring Valley if they are to improve the next few seasons. An All-Conference honorable mention her freshman season will definitely make her an interesting player on a team who’s looking to rebuild the next few seasons.
