There were some really good basketball players at the Prep Girl Hoops 250 event in Winter Haven, FL. Here are a few players who set the tone from the onset of the event.
Eris Lester, 2024, 5’10″ ( Orange Park) set the tone for the tournament. Not many at PG250 could match her energy. She recorded steals and converted them to uncontested layups. At 5’10 Lester was impressive on the offensive glass, scoring on several putbacks. Lester did a good job of playing the passing lanes and playing aggressive defense all day long at PGH 250. The versatile Lester also looked good in the offensive sets. She moved the ball when she didn’t have a shot and drove hard the basket at other times. Lester also connected on midrange shots and even knocked down several threes. If that wasn’t impressive, Lester knocked down a few threes. Just an overall special performance in game 1 and solid throughout the day.
Nia Blocton, 2024, 6’0″ (Ridgeview) came to play at the PGH 250. Her tenacity, athleticism, and performance stood out. Whenever she got the ball under the goal it was “money.” Blocton showed versatility with left-hand and right-hand finishes under the goal. She was relentless on the glass grabbing rebounds and initiating fast breaks.

, 2023 (Clearwater) was a force at PGH 250. At 5’10, Sturdivant was impressive at the power forward position.. She is a workhorse on the court and plays with a passion for the game. Her work in the paint was impressive. She showed excellent footwork and an uncanny ability to put the ball in the basket. Sturdivant attacks the glass and can grab the rebound and bring the ball down the court. Very impressive for a power forward.

, 2023, 5’10’ (Tampa Prep) was special during the PGH event this weekend. At 5’10,” she checks all the boxes: speed, handles, high IQ, knows how to score, good shooter, runs the floor., etc. The attribute that really stood out was Mosley’s competitiveness. When on the court she is competing for number one. Her defense was good. She slides her feet well and applies constant pressure on the opponent.
Geriya Grady, 2023 (Boca Siega) puts pressure on the defense when she has the ball in her hands. From the moment she touches the ball she is looking to attack the rim. She has the tools in her bag to accomplish it: the crossovers, the handles, the hesitation moves, and the speed. All were on display at PGH 250. In one stretch she had the defense at her mercy and converted back to back layups with a great degree of difficulty.

5'7" | CG Brooks DeBartolo | 2022StateFL
, 2022, 5’8″ (Brooks Debartolo Collegiate) really stood out in the PGH 250. Her speed on the court and the ability to go left and right stood out.
The 5’8″ guard was impressive in all areas on the court. She shot the ball very well at PGH 250 mid shots and from behind the arc. Davis runs the court well and knows how to put the ball in the basket. Davis played aggressively on defense and in one instance she put her body in front of the defender to take a charge.
Nataya McGee 2022, 5’9″ (Wildwood Middle) really did some nice things on the basketball court. Every time you looked, McGee was securing a rebound or getting to the rim. At 5’9 she was really comfortable out there. Her footwork was very nice. At times getting baskets looked effortless for the talented Senior. A very nice player with very good footwork and runs the floor very well. McGee also did a good job on the defensive end.
