A look at some of the top players I had the honor to watch last weekend at the PGH Top 250 Expo in Columbus!
[player_tooltip player_id="162140" first="Catara" last="DeJarnette"]: 5'6, G, 2022, Kenston High School: Very impressed by DeJarnette, with her poise, and the way she distributes the ball. Catara's light feet makes her dangerous on both ends of the court, applying pressure on the ball defensively, and offensively flies past multiple players. Executes well on transition, and attacking the lane. Love her handles, she's crafty with the ball! Coaches, she needs to be on your radar!
[player_tooltip player_id="216012" first="Morgyn" last="Rose"]: SG, 2024, Wayne High School: (Below in picture) Morgyn's fundamentals are solid and consistent! She knows how to get to the charity stripe, by attacking the basket and protecting the basketball. Defensively, she boxed out her player so well, not allowing her opponent to have a chance in rebounding. Pretty outside shot, can drain the 3's.
[player_tooltip player_id="327735" first="Meghan" last="Parlette"]: PG/SG, 2024, Carroll High School: Parlette is without question a three point shooting specialist- and once she connects her first shot, its game over! Fantastic accuracy, can shoot from anywhere behind the arc, great mechanics and shooting form, and she certainly doesn't need much space to knock them down! Really lets the game come to her- doesn't force shots, and finds her teammates.
[player_tooltip player_id="270604" first="Stephanie" last="Altstaetter"]: C/PF, 2023, Indian Lake High School: (Below, in blue jersey) Stephanie is like a magnet when it comes to rebounding- one of the stronger rebounders I watched from the event. She anticipates on both ends of the floor when rebounding. Offensively, she's a bucket inside the paint, with strong put backs. Her footwork comes naturally! Smart decision maker with passing as well!
[player_tooltip player_id="217320" first="Kya" last="Jordan"]: CG, 2024, Gahanna Lincoln High School: Jordan is an explosive, athletic guard who really wowed me with her spin moves to the basket. No problem weaving through the defense, and finds ways to score with contact. She's a 1 on 1 creator, with excellent court vision. Defensively, she sticks to her player, allowing little breathing room! (Featured Photo, with ball)
