Raeanne Eccleston Raeanne Eccleston 6'2" | PF Colonial HS | 2024 State FL 2024, 6’2″ (Colonial ) played very well at PGH 250 and at times the 6’2″ Sophomore was unstoppable. She showed a lot of versatility in her game. Her rebounding ability was on display and so was her ability to score the ball. Eccleston scored from all levels, including an impressive mid-range jump shot. She even hit one jumper from behind the free-throw line. She held her own against some good low post talent at the PGH 250 event. Eccleston is also a smart player on the courts and knows how to go on to the next play. During one possession, she posted in the paint and didn’t get the ball thrown to her. Eccleston didn’t pout, but immediately set a pick at the elbow freeing up the point guard for an easy layup. On the next possession, she set a pick at the free-throw line and got the same result. Eccleston got down the court consistently on fast breaks. In one instance, the 6’2″ center grabbed a rebound and drove down the court for a contested layup. Throughout the event, Eccleston blocked multiple shots and altered a few more shots. The scary part about Eccleston’s game is the upside that she has at the center position. She is going to be a “problem” for the opposition.
Jasmyne Gibson 2024, 6’0″ (West Orange) was very impressive at the PGH 250 event. She ran the floor like a guard and shot the ball from all levels on the floor, including shots behind the arc. Gibson played primarily on the wing on offense, but she showed the ability to play in the post. The few times she posted up on the block she got off good shots. One time she even knocked down a baby hook from the post position. On defense, Gibson defended the painted area well and also demonstrated her ability to cover defenders on the wing. She rebounded well on the defensive end and immediately kicked the ball out to a guard. Other times, Gibson got the rebound, brought the ball up the court, and initiated the offense. She was also impressive on fast breaks, showing the ability to fill the lane, catch the pass, and finish the play with a layup or short midrange shot.
Nia Blocton Nia Blocton 6'0" | PF Ridgeview | 2024 State FL 2024, 6’0″ (Ridgeview) was a workhorse during the PGH 250 event. She was able to outrun the defense on several occasions and get some easy layups. She did well on the defensive end and held her own against some quality “bigs” at the PGH 250 event. One final observation was Blocton’s ability to defend opponents away from the basket. The athleticism and versatility are what has Ridgeview nation excited about the upcoming season in Clay county.
Clare Coyle Clare Coyle 6'1" | PF Bishop Kenny | 2024 State FL 2024, 6’1″ (Bishop Kenny) showed her versatile skillset during the PGH 250 event in Winter Haven FL.
