Reviewing more newly added players to the 2023 rankings we will now move to part two, covering more high school players with college potential.
6’2 center [player_tooltip player_id="276114" first="Ava" last="Schmidt"] (Eastlake HS) has grown and developed right into a college prospect over her high school career. The 6’2 lefty can knock down the midrange jumper well and can score inside. She was good for 15 points and nearly 8 rebounds per game in her shortened sophomore season. Now it is time to see if she can make that next jump in her junior year and become a dominant force in her league.
5’3 point guard [player_tooltip player_id="317109" first="Perla" last="Ruiz"] (Lake Stevens HS) performed well at the Summer Showcase. Ruiz is quick, feisty and works hard on both ends of the floor. The hustle point guard makes her debut in the rankings and a strong junior year can help her continue to rise.
Three other guards that are new to the rankings are 5’3 [player_tooltip player_id="317640" first="Sophie" last="Bronson"] of Nixyaawii School, Cashmere’s 5’6 [player_tooltip player_id="317604" first="Zoe" last="Brown"] and West Seattle’s 5’6 [player_tooltip player_id="317642" first="Lauren" last="Wright"]. Each of these prospects came to the Summer Showcase and showed some college potential for the right school. Player evals can be found in each tagged player's profiles under Team Evals from the PGH Showcase.
