2023 Rankings: Top Bigs

College recruiters are always looking for prospects with size and Washington’s class of 2023 has a few players that are being recruited for the next level. The players highlighted below are widely considered as some of the top bigs in the 2023 class. 2023 6’6 PF [player_tooltip player_id="115393" first="Olivia" last="Anderson"] (Ellensburg HS) holds several Division 1 offers from coast to coast and her recruitment continues to take shape over time. She has elite length and next level athleticism. Her back to the basket game is developing over time and she has shown flashes with this, knocking down tough turnaround jumpers. Her shot blocking and paint protection sets her apart from many opponents. All Star Girls Report ranks her as the number 21 overall prospect in the country. Her latest offer came in last night from University of Buffalo. 2023 6’4 C [player_tooltip player_id="249844" first="Naomi" last="Hotchkiss"] (Puyallup HS) has seen her recruitment trend upwards more and more as time has gone along. Hotchkiss is being recruited by several west coast schools right now. She has a soft touch on her 15 foot jumper, knocks down her free throws and cleans up the boards very well. She has risen from an undervalued player to now being rated as the top center in Washington’s 2023 class. 2023 6’2 C [player_tooltip player_id="276114" first="Ava" last="Schmidt"] (Eastlake HS) is another player that has seen her stock rise some over time as she has grown and developed. Bigs always develop later and Schmidt is a prime example of this. She has solid mobility and can knock down the midrange jumper. She is shaping up to be a solid college prospect over time and should have a strong junior season for Eastlake. 2023 6’4 C [player_tooltip player_id="154284" first="Vivienne" last="Berrett"] (Stanwood HS) is a strong and physical post player that has a throwback style of playing, doing her damage in the paint. Berrett has grown into her body more and positions herself deep in the post for easy scoring opportunities. Her size helps with paint protection on the defensive end and she rebounds in her area.
