In September and October, they all verbally committed to stellar college institutions to study and play hoops after gradation.
Here is a look at the student-athletes who will take the scholastic and athletic dive into four years of competitive collegiate life.
Dorothy Loffredo
Dorothy Loffredo, a junior forward/guard at Manasquan, had verbally committed to the Division III Stevens Ducks (N.J.) Women’s Basketball program on October 12th.
Loffredo, who also played for the NJ Bells, poured in 117 points (7.8 p.p.g), grabbed 80 (5.3 r.p.g) boards, and dished out 30 (2 a.p.g) assists in 15 contests last year.
Janie Bachmann
St. John Vianney’s Janie Bachmann had verbally committed to Division I Holy Cross (Mass.) Women’s Basketball Program on September 20th.
Bachmann scored 39 points, grabbed 14 rebounds, and made 20 steals in 14 games this past season with the Lady Lancers. But the gifted junior guard put forth a solid showing on the AAU circuit with Team Rio’s 16u squad over the spring and summer, which increased her college recruitment stock.
More importantly, though, Bachman should conceivably improve over her remaining two years at SJV, and shine on the college ranks once she arrives at Holy Cross.

Rosie Scognamiglio Rosie Scognamiglio 5'10" | SG St. Rose | 2023 State NJ of St. Rose High School had verbally committed to the Division I Bucknell (Penn.) Women’s Basketball program on September 18th.
Scognamiglio, a 5-foot-10 junior shooting guard, dropped in 166 points (11 p.p.g.), pulled down 62 rebounds (4.1 r.p.g.), and made 35 steals (2.3 s.p.g.) in 15 games in her sophomore season as a Purple Rose.
Scognamiglio spent her freshman year at Pearl River High School, in Pearl River, N.Y., where she earned All-Division honors.
Scognamiglio, who has room for growth due to her young age, is on the rise, and possesses one of the most lethal shots in the Garden State. Additionally, she gets to the basketball with the use of her cunningness and toughness.
Moreover, the NJ Shoreshots dynamic hoopster is a gritty, physical defender, with a determined spirit that has her playing above girls bigger than herself.
