With the Official first practice starting this Friday, this will be the first talk of top teams in Northeast, Ohio. Five teams in division 2 among the best. Much more coverage heading into the high school season begins November 1 as the PGH staff begins looking at various conferences around Ohio and the breakdown of many of the conferences. Laurel High School an independent conference team head coach first-year Terrina Robinson was an assistant last year but is no stranger to success as a player or coach. The Thierry sisters have graduated and it is time for the newcomers as well as the younger players to step up in a bigger role. Leading the way who is rated as the best 2023 in the state with national recognition is ready to fill on the leadership side. She has the ability to take over a game when she wants. Bickley has done a lot of basketball this offseason but has been in the books taking care of business. Other Notable players: class of 2023 Helen Holly class of 2024 Margaret Jones class of 2023 Kendall Braaetan class of 2023 Perry High School a CVC conference team head coach Roy infalvi has his work cut out this year losing his best two scorers, but he can handle it. The CVC Lake division conference champs did a great job last season. Their style is making teams uncomfortable and creating turnovers. The Pirates return three starters from last year’s team and a few newcomers and a few others that roles have changed. Marcela Rodriquez is the offensive weapon that they will lean on to show leadership on and off the court this year. A team-first mentality and a great group of girls that work together to get the job done. Other Notable Players: Jac’acana Anderson class of 2022 Marguax Jean class of 2022 Grace Mckoon class of 2023 Gigi Vicini class of 2022 Cuyahoga Valley Christian High School head coach Andy O’keefe does a great job with his program. With a lot of the key contributors coming back for another you there will be a lot of good coming to the CVCA basketball team. CVCA is a program that believes in playing together and being selfless. class of 2023 can really score the basketball and does a great job finding her teammates. She will be called upon in big moments, but there is not just one player the team together plays and wins together. Other Notable players: Hadley Hajdu Hadley Hajdu 5'8" | SG Revere | 2024 State OH class of 2024 Gia Casalinova Gia Casalinova 5'7" | CG Cuyahoga Valley Christian Academy | 2023 State OH class of 2023 Liv Brummert class of 2022 Kylie Bettinger Kylie Bettinger 5'10" | SG CVCA | 2023 OH class of 2023 Magnificat High School head coach Danny Gallagher has a young team, but a team that is ready to compete. A team that fought through adversity and did a good job at getting through it. The program of Magnificat will be successful this year because they believe in togetherness and through the times they had last year along with the new additions to the program look for them to have a good deal of success. Abby rosol is a player that anyone would roll with. Good range shooter and can defend. Other notable players: Julia Hall Julia Hall 6'0" | SG Magnificat | 2025 State OH class of 2025 Mollie Laspisa class of 2022 Sophia Anghilante class of 2022 Cameron Jones class of 2022 Maddie Norman class of 2022 Gilmour Academy High School Head coach Julie Solis does a fantastic job with her program. Solis has a history of success in her past and has played the game. She will have success this year with some key contributors. Lauryn Stover class of 2022 is committed to Purdue Fort Wayne. She is a player that is aggressive and can shoot the basketball. Stover has good size and is a leader that will continue leading her team in her final season.
