First of all, Leah Brooks Leah Brooks 6'1" | C Hazel Green | 2024 State AL | 6-0 | PF | Hazel Green HS
She has to stand out as one of the best 2024 in the state of Alabama. As a freshman, she started on the reigning 6A state champions, who then repeated as state champions. Leah is long-lanky, great presence in the paint, excellent rebounder, and has a nice short-range jumper. She is a hard worker, and will only get better.
There then is Jordan Hunter Jordan Hunter 5'10" | C Hewitt-Trussville | 2024 State AL | 5-8 | CG | Hewitt-Trussville HS
Jordan has been on varsity since 7th grade, with that long lower torso she covers a lot of areas in a quick amount of time. She can handle the ball, has great court vision, and really fills the role of being the “coach on the court” for her head coach and mom. “Apple doesn’t fall far from the tree”. As she progresses, her strength and court vision will be her best attributes.
Syriah Daniels Syriah Daniels 6'0" | PG Auburn | 2024 State AL | 6-0 G | Auburn HS
Another “apple”, her dad was a standout guard at Auburn and in the NBA. Her length and quickness were a problem during her freshman season, and yes she was a starter too on varsity. Good ball handler and can shoot; don’t leave her open she will make you pay. Like most freshmen, her strength will come with age.
Tamora Brown | 5-6 PG / Muscle Shoals HS
Tam as she is affectionally called is yet another “apple” in Alabama. Tamora’s sister currently holds the record for being the leading scorer at the University of Alabama in Huntsville, and she has already picked up those traits. Tam is not afraid of contact and will penetrate, and when you think she is going to drive, she will pull up for that jumper. Her defense is relentless too, will pick your pocket if you don’t take care of the ball. Her freshman year as the PG for Muscle Shoals had her on the floor with current TN freshman Sara Puckett Sara Puckett 6'2" | SF Muscle Shoals | 2021 #38 Nation AL , whose leadership gave Tam a great opportunity to be mentored to take over this team for the next three years.
Jaedyn Sharp Jaedyn Sharp 6'0" | PF Gadsden City | 2024 State AL | 6-0 PF | Gadsden City HS
Jaedyn is a load in the post, she is not afraid to give or take contact. Her quickness and strength make the most dominant power forward in this state, which gives the opponent a headache defending. She just plays with sheer energy and will to win, her skill set will only improve as she gets older. A beast in the paint.
Look for more to come.
