Northwest Ohio Shootout- Top '22-'23

High school basketball practice starts tomorrow around Ohio, and scrimmages get underway in just over a week. To finish up the fall basketball coverage for PGH Ohio, I will look at the kids who were at the Northwest Ohio Shootout last weekend in Van Wert. Tonight, we will look at the older kids, with the top 2022 and 2023 players who performed well in Van Wert. Also coming up, a look at the younger players. 2022s and 2023s who shined Sam Hoelscher, 5-8 2022, Marion Local You want this girl on the floor for every game. She's strong, fast and athletic, gives 100% and will do whatever is needed each and every possession for her team. She's a threat with the ball from anywhere, her athleticism makes it all look easy. She definitely has the talent to play oi scholarship, and showed she can score from anywhere Haleigh Jewell, 5-11 2023, Antwerp She does what is needed on both ends of the floor for her team to be successful. She is very strong with the ball and plays with a high basketball IQ. Haleigh has fantastic intangibles and is looking forward to a big junior year at Antwerp. Scrappy and hard nosed player. She's long and strong, uses her long arms to deflect the ball, good shooter and high floor IQ. Everytime you turn around, this kid is in the gym. She knows what she has to do to improve, and she is out there doing it.  [player_tooltip player_id="216009" first="Addie" last="Lloyd"], 5-5 2023, Franklin Such a positive piece to any team- she's a great teammate on the floor, aggressive on inbounds, looks for steals, and likes to pressure on defense. Not afraid to shoot from the perimeter or put the ball on the floor and get to the rim. You won't find a nicer kid anywhere, she loves to compete! [player_tooltip player_id="93558" first="Ashley" last="Zawisza"], 5-6 2023, St. Ursula Academy This prospect has lots of talent and confidence with the ball. Ready to go to battle every game. She reads the floor well and handles pressure when bringing the ball up, great PG, and always plays hard for her team. She is fun to watch, never gives up and will compete and not back down. Kyilla Billingsly, 5-9 2023, Celina A solid player for any roster! She has strong body size, uses it to her advantage and makes defenders work when she has the ball. Ruthless defender & great communication on the floor. Strong physical kid who has a good touch from the perimeter, or will penetrate and score at the rim. Kyra Welch, 5-6 2023, Van Wert A true hustler of the game. She has great energy on the defensive end! She has that defensive energy that will make any 5 on the floor better. She matched up full court and always pressured her girl. Those are the players that make a difference on D. Played well on her home court. Morgan Riemenschneider, 6-0 2022, Fairfield A solid player on the floor! She's big in the paint and has good handles, details are critical to her game and her footwork is solid. Small basketball IQ, mom played D1, good basketball pedigree. Strong and physical, rebounds well and runs the floor. Kayla Reeves, 5-6 2022, Ben Logan She gives it all, for every possession! A selfless player on both ends of the floor, plays for her team, pushes the ball and makes the right pass, knows how to make cuts to the hoop and score. Can move without the ball, looking for a strong senior season. Kayleigh Tingler, 5-9 2023, Field Great size and skill level for the game. She is tall with good footwork in the paint, tough to guard if she gets it inside, fast footwork and uses her length to her advantage. She can anticipate well and create shots.  Olivia Mueller, 5-6 2023, Tinora A player with a full tool belt. She can do it all- with ease. She's athletic with good handles, great selfless effort on both ends of the floor, and has solid baseline drives and finishes. She's a natural athlete, the details come easy to her. Her energy is needed on both ends of the floor and has a nice shot! One of more complete players on the day, Reagan has good handles and solid court vision.
