The same goes for the Prep Girls Hoops New Jersey team, who has been hard at work providing you some great content for the coming season.
That continues in this article as we look at the PGH NJ 2023 class prospect rankings and the No. 37-39 top juniors in the state as ranked by our team.
No. 37: Rylee Drahos Rylee Drahos 5'7" | CG Shore | 2023 State NJ – 5-8 CG, Shore
Drahos had another impressive season with Shore in the spring after bursting onto the scene as a freshman. She averaged double figures in the scoring department for the second-consecutive season while continuously being a machine from beyond the arc.
In 38 games over the past two seasons, Drahos has hit 58 three-pointers, well over 1.5 a game. Her best asset on the court is her perimeter shooting and she has an effortless release.
While her numbers dipped in the spring, it’s nothing to scoff at because she is an incredibly impressive overall guard. She commands the basketball well at the point and that versatility is going to be key for her overall development moving forward.
No. 38: Emma Steidle – PG/SG, Clearview
Steidle stepped into a much larger role in the spring on Clearview with Kassidy Thompson Kassidy Thompson 5'9" | SG Camden Catholic | 2023 State NJ and Aaryn Battle Aaryn Battle 5'8" | SF Camden Catholic | 2023 State NJ having transferred to Camden Catholic. That opened up the floor for a massive season from her.
Her production skyrocketed, averaging 12.9 PPG, 3.7 RPG, 2.7 SPG and 1.7 made three-pointers a game last season, finishing second on the team in points, steals and made three-pointers, and third in rebounds.
She’s really developed her game into an elite scorer and a fantastic guard who spreads out her shot selection well on the floor. This season will be her first full season as one of the staples of this team, so we’re hoping to see an even greater jump in production across the board.
No. 39: Avery Kessler Avery Kessler SG Shawnee | 2023 State NJ – SG, Shawnee
Kessler transferred to Shawnee from Cherokee coming into this season and it ended up being the best possible move for her future as she became an instant difference-maker on the team.
She led the Renegades in scoring at 13.0 PPG, nearly 3.0 SPG, and two made three-pointers a game. Kessler seemingly was an automatic bucket with the ball in her hands and she turned Shawnee into a surefire contender in the Olympic Conference.
This season is going to test her overall play to see if she can sustain the amount of success that she had in the spring. Kessler has the poise and maturity to dominate on the floor and she’s going to show up in a big way this winter.
