PGH NJ 2022 Prospects No. 38-40

We are currently just over a week into October and the fall is now fully amongst us. That means one thing for the high school sports calendar: the winter sports season is fast approaching. For girls basketball, the season is right around the corner, around a month or so away. In New Jersey, practices have been ramped up and the intensity of the impending season is already being felt. Prep Girls Hoops New Jersey has been looking at the best prospects in the state through our updated class prospect rankings. In this article, we take a look at the No. 38-40 best 2022 prospects in the state as ranked by the PGH NJ team. No. 38: [player_tooltip player_id="319314" first="Olivia" last="Lawlor"] - 6-2 PF, Summit Lawlor’s junior season was her best to date, averaging 16.9 PPG, 8.8 RPG, 2.6 BPG and 1.5 SPG for Summit, setting career-highs in points, rebounds and blocks per game. She was an incredibly dominant player in North Jersey, posting six 20+ point performances and three double-doubles in the spring. The Dartmouth commit has put in work over the past three seasons, showing constant growth in her overall game. With United AAU over the summer, Lawlor has made it a priority to continue to work on her inside game, creating space for herself in the lane and utilizing her size to make it a nightmare for anyone to guard her. This season, she’s going to continue to push the tempo in the lane and go for that double-double average. No. 39: [player_tooltip player_id="319315" first="Chloe" last="Kreusser"] - 5-11 PF, Westfield Kreusser is an multi-star athlete, shining bright on the basketball and volleyball court and that explosiveness that she’s used to help get kills in volleyball she’s used to become one of the best shot-blockers in the region. She averaged 11.1 PPG, 8.6 RPG, 1.5 BPG and 2.6 SPG in the spring for Westfield, showing that increased production over her high school career. Her best game came in early February against Scotch Plains-Fanwood, a 24-point, 10-rebound double-double with three blocks and five steals. It was one of five double-doubles for her on the season and she’s more than capable of putting up those numbers over the course of an entire season. She has her senior season to see if she can take that next step of production forward. No. 40: Marquae Richardson-Muse - 5-9 SG, Haddon Heights Richardson-Muse has been one of the main leaders of this Haddon Heights team for the past few seasons, really taking shape as the de-facto captain as a junior on a team with just one graduating senior on the roster in the spring. She narrowly missed out on a double-digit scoring average, but we saw increased aggression driving into the lane and scoring inside the perimeter. Not only that, but Richardson-Muse was one of the best foul shooters on the team. This senior year for her will be one of continued growth after looking very strong for Team Success Elite during the AAU season this past summer. If she can combine that interior aggression with more effortless finishes in the lane, this is a player who is going to dominate the entirety of the Colonial Conference.
