From their ’26 team to the 17U squad, MCW has top-tier talent throughout the program. Below are three players who impressed me the most.
Emma Smith Emma Smith 5'9" | SG Cca | 2026 State New E – Concord Christian Academy – 5’9’’ – SG – ’26
Smith kicked off the Zero Gravity Level Up Challenge with a big-time performance that led her MCW team to a 48-40 win. Smith put her fingerprints on the game early, using her size and length to get to the basket at will. Smith is comfortable going to her weak hand and has an array of go-moves and jab steps that set up her shots. Smith was a mismatch nightmare exploiting weaknesses in every defender who attempted to guard her. When not creating for herself, she was crashing the glass hard and was fighting underneath for every rebound.
Grace O’Sullivan Grace O’Sullivan 6'0" | SF Rivers | 2025 State New E – Rivers – 6’0’’ – SF – ’25
’25 Rank: #13
I thought O’Sullivan played her best basketball last weekend, and it’s her confidence that has been the most significant difference in her game. She moves on the court as if she owns it and makes the opposition feel her presence every minute on the floor. She was a relentless competitor, outworked everyone, and set a tone for MCW with her play. O’Sullivan has guard-like skills, but I love how she is transforming her game also to be a force around the basket. Her footwork on the block looks good; she rolls hard after setting screens demanding the ball, and her energy is contagious. O’Sullivan’s skill plus intangibles make her one of the more valuable players in the ’25 class.
Selina Monestime Selina Monestime 5'11" | SG Framingham | 2023 State New E – Framingham – 5’10’’ – SG – ’23
’23 Rank: #10
After watching Monestime last weekend, it is hard not to consider her a top 5 player in the ’23 class. Her ability to impact both sides of the ball at the highest level makes Monestime the second-best two-way player amongst the rest of her peers. Against the Rivals, Monestime was arguably the best player on the court. She is an elite shot-blocker at the guard spot and showed her impeccable timing when helping from the weak side. Monestime’s shot creation from the perimeter was impressive as she left us spectators speechless with step-back threes and strong finishes at the rim. Monestime is turning into a dynamic, game-changing wing who can take over games on offense and defense.
