The top of this conference is good enough to advance deep into the playoffs. Even though this conference may not be widely known, the players are good.
Mara Stamper-5’5 G-’23-Crandon: This guard ranked as one of the best scored in the conference a season ago. While playing for the Crandon, she was able to get involved in every facet of the game. For a team like Crandon to earn respect, they need to make that final step. Stamper will be crucial to that after gaining experience in sectionals a year.
Holly Paulbicki-5’6 G-’23-Crandon: Another member of the talented Crandon team a year ago, Paulbicki was a first-team all-conference member as a sophomore last season. This Cardinals team is just coming of age and will hopefully get better. Paulbicki was a top three leader in all three main offensive categories a season ago for the Cardinals, making her a swiss army knife style of player.
Isabella Millan Isabella Millan 5'8" | CG Florence | 2024 WI -5’8 G-’24-Florence: Millan may have had one of the greenest lights in all of Wisconsin basketball a year ago. She was able to get up to 401 shots a season ago. Her numbers are probably much lower than they should be, percentage-wise. Her free throws were at a respectable 75%, which makes me think she’s a better shooter than she’s shown. As she figures out what her comfort zones are, she’ll become more efficient.
Kara Sowinski-5’2 G-’22-Three Lakes: Sowinksi has one stat that jumps off the page, her assists. She led the conference with six and a half a game. I don’t think they recorded her turnovers because she only was recorded with nine all year. But she led the conference by almost four steals a game. While she’s a Bluejay, I expect her to get the most out of her teammates.
