Prep Girls Hoops Predictions:
1.Philip Simmons HS – The Iron Horses had a great season last year. Will they stay on top of the region ?
2.Timberland HS – The Wolves bring back Amiyah Ferguson Amiyah Ferguson 5'9" | CG Timberland | 2023 State SC to the lineup this year.
3.Woodland HS – The Lady Wolverines will stay in the middle of the pack this year.
4.Burke HS – The Lady Bulldogs will be in every game with veteran Head Coach Jimmy Brown. Dream Watson Dream Watson 5'3" | PG Military Magnet | 2025 State SC bolted to Military Magnet.
5.Lake Marion HS (Santee) – Can Quanaisha Myers Quanaisha Myers 5'2" | CG Lake Marion | 2022 State SC carry the Lady Gators into the playoffs ?
6.Ridgeland-Hardeeville HS – The Jaguars didn’t play a game last season.
Quanaisha Myers Quanaisha Myers 5'2" | CG Lake Marion | 2022 State SC (2022) – Lake Marion HS (Santee)
Myers is sure not big in height but she makes up for her points in the scoring column. Myers is a bit of a bucker getter over the years for the Lady Gators. Quanaisha has piled up some points but just not a lot of recognition playing off the grid bit over in Santee.
Alexia Parnell-Glover Alexia Parnell-Glover 5'4" | CG Burke | 2022 State SC (2022) – Burke HS
Alexia will be the focal point for the Lady Bulldogs with few players departing this off season for Burke HS.
Kennedy Rivers Kennedy Rivers 5'5" | CG Philip Simmons | 2023 State SC (2023) – Philip Simmons HS – CO-Region Player of the Year
Rivers is back after averaging 17.1 ppg last season for the Iron Horses. Kennedy and Kylee Kellermann Kylee Kellermann 5'7" | SG Philip Simmons | 2023 State SC have both here since Day one for the Iron Horses. Rivers comes into her junior year and 5th year on the varsity with 870 career points.
Kylee Kellermann Kylee Kellermann 5'7" | SG Philip Simmons | 2023 State SC (2023) – Philip Simmons HS – CO-Region Player of the Year
Kylee had a great summer on the Grassroots Circuit with TMP. Kellermann averaged 16.7 ppg with its balance attack last season. Kylee can play both positions in the backcourt. Kellerman starts her junior season with 938 career points. Kylee just like Rivers enters her 5th season on the varsity roster.
Zhaire Mack Zhaire Mack 5'9" | SF Philip Simmons | 2023 State SC (2023) – Philip Simmons HS
Look for Mack to add to the lineup this season after a strong summer with TMP. Mack brings a great energy and a willingness to win. Zhaire doesn’t mind chatting it up at times while on the floor. Mack can come up with a big steal, deflection, rebound, short mid-range jumper or just a hustle play.
Amiyah Ferguson Amiyah Ferguson 5'9" | CG Timberland | 2023 State SC (2023) – Timberland HS (St Stephen)
Ferguson started her career for the Wolves as a 8th grader before moving onto Northwood Academy the past 2 seasons. Amiyah a left-handed combo guard brings some shakes and bakes to the lineup. Ferguson will put the Wolves into contention this season with some young talent around her.
Makayla Watkins (2023) – Timberland HS (St Stephen)
Watkins had ACL surgery back in late July on her left knee. Watkins averaged 6.4 ppg last season for the Wolves.
Zania Garvin Zania Garvin 5'11" | PF Cy-Fair | 2024 TX (2024) – Woodland HS
Garvin is a slender-sleek forward who can alter and challenge shots on the defensive end of the floor. Zaria can rebound the ball on both ends of the floor while keeping the ball up high.
Zion Prioleau Zion Prioleau 5'6" | SG Timberland | 2026 State SC (2025) – Timberland HS (St Stephen)
Prioleau a shooting guard is the future piece for the Lady Wolves. Zion averaged 9.9 ppg last season as 8th grader for Head Coach Allen Gethers.
