While there were several taller players who could excel on the perimeter, these young ladies made their home around the basket and very tough to stop inside.
Cady Huffman Cady Huffman 6'6" | C Lee's Summit West | 2024 State MO 6’6’ Lee’s Summit West: The tallest player in the camp, this developing 2024 center is a classic back-to-the basket player who was unstoppable when she caught the ball inside. She used her height to get great position and when she caught the ball, she kept it up high and scored rather easily. Her fundamentals are good and she always plays to her size.
Aleah Moree Aleah Moree 6'2" | C Winfield | 2024 State KS 6’2″ Winfield (KS): A very talented 2024 low post player who has excellent skills and fundamentals around the basket. She has good footwork and good mobility in the lane and she can score on a variety of moves. She has a nice shooting touch inside and she can score with either hand. I like the patience that she exhibited inside when she catches the ball. She can also hit a 3-pointer off the catch.
Daphne Bracker-Sturm Daphne Bracker-Sturm 6'3" | C Lawrence | 2023 State KS 6’3″ Lawrence (KS): A 2023 post player who I was most impressed with her ability to pass the ball. Whenever she faced a double-team, she made the right read and zipped a pinpoint pass right back out to the open teammate right in the shooting pocket. She also had some impressive offensive skills inside as she used her size to get position and she displayed an excellent shooting touch.
Meleah Grayson 6’0″ Lee’s Summit North: A very active 2022 forward who was very active at both ends of the floor as a scorer and rebounder. She was a good worker who did a nice job of establishing her position and working inside. She was a very good screener who freed up her teammates for perimeter shots and driving lanes. She was also effective on the roll down as she caught the ball on the move and scored inside.
