Victoria Cazares Victoria Cazares 5'5" | PG Pueblo | 2023 State AZ – Junior – 5’4″ – Pueblo High School
Cazares is a five-foot-four small forward for the Pueblo High Lady Warriors that helped lead her team to a successful overall season record of 9-6. She played in all 15 games and managed to average 17.3 points per game as an underclassman. Victoria finished off the 2020-2021 basketball season scoring a total of 259 points, the third-highest scorer in the division. Not only was she selected as the MaxPreps Player of the Game NINE different times throughout the year, but she was also chosen as the MaxPreps Player of the Year! (Also awarded MaxPreps Player of the Year during her freshman year as well.) A well-rounded athlete with a lot of heart.
Myla Truitt Myla Truitt 5'4" | CG Pueblo | 2023 State AZ – Junior – 5’2″ – Pueblo High School
Another stand-out player in the Kino region comes from the Pueblo Lady Warriors and that is a scrappy, five-foot-two combo guard, Myla Truitt Myla Truitt 5'4" | CG Pueblo | 2023 State AZ . She averaged 10.7 points per game for a total of 160 points for the entire season. 17 field goals of hers came from behind the arc but Truitt found other ways to get the ball in the hole even in traffic. Myla was awarded the MaxPreps Player of the Game on February 5th against Marana, scoring 15 points, three rebounds, and one steal. #20 may be small, but she is mighty and plays a tough game.
AJ Bonapart – Junior – 5’8″ – Sahuaro High School
Ayjianna was a five-foot-eight sophomore guard for the Sahuaro Lady Cougars that helped lead them to a very successful 17-2 overall record last season. She got minutes in each of the 19 games that were played and averaged a set of decent stats as an underclassman. With 5.5 points, 4.4 rebounds, 1.8 steals, and 1.3 assists per game, AJ turned a few heads. She went 50% from the three-point line in a win against Poston Butte scoring 18 points, five rebounds, three steals, and one block.
Cryztal Rodriguez – Senior – 5’8″ – Pueblo High School
This Lady Warrior is going to be a senior this year for Pueblo High School after a successful career. Last season, Rodriguez averaged 6.4 points per game and 3.6 rebounds per game over the course of 15 games played. She was selected as the MaxPreps Player of the Game during the 2020-2021 basketball season for her outstanding performance against the talented Sahuaro Lady Cougars with nine points, three rebounds, and one steal. I am looking forward to seeing what this experienced veteran will bring to the Kino region for her last season.
Achol Magot Achol Magot 6'5" | C Southern Arizona Prep | 2023 State AZ – Junior – 6’7″ – Salpointe Catholic High School
As a sophomore during the 2020-2021 high school basketball season, the six-foot-seven center for Salpointe Catholic averaged 6.1 points per game, 5.0 rebounds per game, and 1.0 steals per game for the varsity squad. She has played on the varsity team for both of her years of eligibility making a positive impact throughout her minutes. Even though Magot only appeared in seven games this season, I believe she definitely deserves a spot on the Under the Radar top performers list for the Kino region. The experience that she has had playing for the Lancers the past two years will greatly benefit her for the future.
