2023 Rankings: Top Point Guards

The Junior class rankings have been updated and we’ve had a big shakeup at the top and several new names and big movers. Here’s a look at the top ranked point guards in the updated 2023 rankings. This article does not contain any of the players who were ranked in the top ten in the class. [player_tooltip player_id="164393" first="Macy" last="Runner"], Nelson County - Consistently among the top players in the class from a young age, Runner already has an early offer from Western Kentucky and is on the radar of several other schools. Macy can really score the ball and could be in line for a big season as she has more talent around her at Nelson this season and should be a darkhorse candidate in the 5th region. [player_tooltip player_id="199613" first="Lilly" last="Reid"], Bullitt East - The Lady Chargers will look for a big season from Lilly as they have to replace some production lost at the guard spot when Selena Granardo graduated. Reid is a capable scorer but her value is likely to be more as a playmaker with the ball in her hands. [player_tooltip player_id="106147" first="Amaya" last="Asher"], Central - Asher announced her reclass from 2022 and should be one of the best guards in Louisville this season. A skilled ball handler that plays with a chip on her shoulder, Amaya has a quick first step and can get in the paint against almost any defender. Look for her to push Central back to the thick of the 7th region title chase. Hoskins is a volume scorer and could be a 20+ point per game scorer this season if she can improve her efficiency from three and especially at the free throw line. She draws a lot of fouls and has to be able to convert at the charity stripe.
