Reid is Bullitt East’s leading scorer at 15.1 PPG, but she brings so much more to the floor beyond her scoring. She’s a true floor general who wants to get the ball to her teammates. She consistently plays hard and is definitely a key piece of the puzzle for the Chargers.

Reid runs the point for the Chargers and she was really facilitating well as her team made their run. She was creating great looks for her teammates and finished the game with 8 assists. Reid also added 11 points, 5 rebounds, and 2 steals.

Reid has taken on a much larger role this season after Bullitt East graduated their 2 leading scorers from last year, and she has taken on that role in the best way you could hope for if you’re a Charger fan. The lefty has always been a strong floor general and she’s also demonstrated her ability to score when her team needed a basket, but this year, she’s shown that she can really take over a game too. She can knock down outside shots from extremely deep range, so you really have to pick her up as soon as she crosses half court. However, she also makes strong drives to the basket and she can finish in really shifty ways around the rim. Reid can also finish through contact. She made some great passes and was disrupting the offense as a defender as well.

Reid was contributing in every way possible for the Chargers. She was creating good looks for her team, but she was also creating good looks for herself. She was scoring both inside and out. Reid was handling pressure and making the defense pay whenever they overplayed her.

Reid is a hard-nosed, smart basketball player. She helped her team get to the championship of the KHSAA Sweet 16 last season and she played a huge role in getting them there. The lefty is really tough and she plays fearless. She can get to the basket and score with a defender on her hip. She can finish through contact. She can knock down pull-up jumpers, floaters, and 3-pointers as well. However, as a point guard, Reid does a great job of not simply getting her teammates the basketball, but truly creating for them. She is Bullitt East’s leading returning scorer and rebounder going into this season and I expect her to have a huge senior season ahead.

If you say them play last season, you would not be surprise to see two point guards from this team at the top of this list. rnReid was a fulltime starter, and made a ton of curcial buckets using her left to drive to the hoop along the left side of the lane for layups, shot jumpers and a few running baby-hooks to get her team two points during times when they really needed a bucket. This player more than almost any other was the one who changed the momemtum into her favor when the tides were starting to change for the worse. rnHer speed with the ball when driving downhill is nearly unstoppable. Opponents do what they can but it seems like the best tactic was just to hope she missed after trying to slide you feet proved to be ineffective. Judging on the team record of 33-5, that defense was ineffective multiple times. rnReid will also be unleashed with the return to a running and pressing system of play that the Chargers had been known for previously. I can hardly wait to see her and her excellent teammates take the court to show what else they can do in this next area in a long history of success in Bulitt county.
