Ariana Sanchez Ariana Sanchez 5'10" | CG Albuquerque | 2023 State NM – 5’8 Guard “Albuquerque” Class of 2023
Albuquerque High School’s Ariana Sanchez Ariana Sanchez 5'10" | CG Albuquerque | 2023 State NM is one of the most underrated prospects we have in New Mexico right now. As a sophomore last season she averaged an impressive 14 points per game which made her the teams second leading scorer. She also got after it on the defensive side of the ball where she averaged 4.5 steals per game. She is one of the better two-way players in the state. She has a great basketball IQ and takes smart shots, she shot 49% from the field last season. She also had three 20 point games last season and was a huge factor in Albuquerque High going 8-2 in the regular season last spring. Expect a big season from Ariana and Albuquerque this year.
Gabby O’Hara Gabby O’Hara 5'5" | SF Bernalillo | 2023 State NM – 5’8 Forward “Bernalillo” Class of 2023
Gabby O’Hara Gabby O’Hara 5'5" | SF Bernalillo | 2023 State NM from Bernalillo High School was a huge factor in the teams success last spring and will be once again for this year. She had a solid campaign her sophomore year and will take a few more steps forward this season. Through the regular season last spring, she helped Bernalillo go 11-1 in their 12 regular season games and win their district. Throughout the season she averaged 12.4 points per game and 8.0 rebounds per game. She helped Bernalillo secure the #3 seed in the 4A State Tournament bracket. She was the second leading scorer for he team last season and was one of their most consistent players by also leading the team in rebounding as well. Don’t be surprised if shes averaging a double double this season.
Aneesa Chavez Aneesa Chavez SG Moriarty | 2023 State NM – 5’5 Shooting Guard “Moriarty” Class of 2023
Aneesa Chavez Aneesa Chavez SG Moriarty | 2023 State NM from Moriarty High School is one of the biggest standouts from the Class of 2023 with her play last season as a sophomore. In her first game last season vs Santa Rosa, she showcased what she is capable of doing o any given night. She dropped a season high 25 points and went 7/7 from the free throw line. Throughout the season she averaged solid 11.8 points per game and 4.3 steals per game. Her played helped Moriarty go a solid 7-4 in a shortened regular season last spring and with her working on her game during the off-season, expects her to have a big year this season.
Ericca Cannon Ericca Cannon 5'3" | PG Goddard | 2023 State NM – 5’4 Guard “Goddard” Class of 2023
Ericca Cannon Ericca Cannon 5'3" | PG Goddard | 2023 State NM from Goddard High School is one of the best scorers in the 2023 Class. Last season she averaged an impressive 11.1 points per game and was the teams second leading scorer from last season. She had a season high of 25 points last spring vs Artesia and also grabbed 7 rebounds. She will be asked to do more this season now as a junior and will continue to get more and more opportunities going froward in her high school career.
Jordyn Henry Jordyn Henry 5'5" | CG Pine Hill | 2023 State NM – 5’5 Guard “Pine Hill” Class of 2023
Jordyn Henry Jordyn Henry 5'5" | CG Pine Hill | 2023 State NM from Pine Hill is another player from the Class of 2023 who had a very solid sophomore year. Through just 9 games last spring, she played well averaging 11.4 points per game and 5.3 rebounds per game at the guard position. She scored in double figures in six of the nine games she played and had great basketball shot awareness by shooting 48% from the field last spring. Her play from last season helped Pine Hill go 7-2 in the regular season. She was the teams second leading scorer and will more than likely step into the number one option role this year.
