The Class of 2024 has many great players and in this article there is some great players that deserve more exposure and recognition.

<p style="text-align: left;">Volcano Vista [player_tooltip player_id="357657" first="Taejhuan" last="Hill"] is one of the best big’s in New Mexico and her game sometimes goes underappreciated. On a stacked Volcano Vista team last spring, she averaged an impressive 8.4 points per game as a freshman and 6.8 rebounds per game. She is a super unselfish player who does all the little things to help Volcano Vista win. She did just that to help Volcano Vista go undefeated last spring at 10-0 and win the 5A State Championship vs #1 Hobbs. In that close championship game she had 9 points and 12 rebounds just shy of a double double. With her consistent play, expect her to give Volcano Vista another boost to repeat as champions this year.</p>

<p style="text-align: left;">[player_tooltip player_id="357673" first="Eva" last="Love"] from the La Cueva Bears caught many peoples attention last spring with her ability to make an impact her freshman year for one of the best programs in the 5A Class last spring. As a freshman she averaged 7.7 on a really deep basketball team that showed it could be anyone’s night offensively. She also contributed with 4.0 rebounds per game and is a solid defender that averaged 2.2 steals per game. She had 4 games last season where she was in double figures and her season high was 15 points on 6/12 shooting vs a really good Eldorado team last spring. The La Cueva Bears look like one of the top contenders in 5A and [player_tooltip player_id="357673" first="Eva" last="Love"] will be a huge factor this season.</p>
<span style="text-decoration: underline;">[player_tooltip player_id="357655" first="Emily" last="Cook"]</span>- 5’5 Shooting Guard "Sandia Prep" Class of 2024
[player_tooltip player_id="357655" first="Emily" last="Cook"] from Sandia Prep is another player from the Class of 2024 that made a huge impact as a freshman last spring and was a key part in her school’s success last season. As a freshman last spring she was the teams third leading scorer at 8.8 points per game and she scored in double figures on three different occasions throughout the season. She had a season high of 18 points last April vs East Mountain High School. Sandia Prep has several young players and expect [player_tooltip player_id="357655" first="Emily" last="Cook"] to be a huge part of the core for the future. She will continue to get more opportunities to showcase her game.
<p style="text-align: left;"><span style="text-decoration: underline;">[player_tooltip player_id="357654" first="Arantza" last="Covarubias"]</span>- 5’8 Forward "Roy/Mosquero" Class of 2024</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">[player_tooltip player_id="357654" first="Arantza" last="Covarubias"] had a major impact as a freshman last spring and she was rewarded by helping her team win the the Class 1A State Championship vs Melrose last spring. She more than contributed with averaging 8.9 points per game and 5.9 rebounds per game. Her play right away helped her school go undefeated in the regular season at 12-0 and secure the #1 seed in the state tournament. This past spring she had seven games of scoring in double figures. Her best game last season was April 13th,2021 where she scored 18 points and grabbed 9 rebounds in a 69-13 win vs Cimarron. Expect her to have many games like that this season.</p>
<p style="text-align: left;"><span style="text-decoration: underline;">[player_tooltip player_id="357676" first="Delani" last="Crawford"]</span>- 6’2 Center "Highland" Class of 2024</p>
<p style="text-align: left;">Highland Center [player_tooltip player_id="357676" first="Delani" last="Crawford"] got some much needed varsity experience last season and will be a huge factor on both sides of the ball this season. In 11 games last season she averaged 5.6 points per game and 5.3 rebounds per game. One of the most impressive parts of her game last season was her ability to protect the rim with her shot blocking. She averaged 2.5 blocks per game last season and in a game vs Grants High School this past April, she recorded 8 blocks alone in that game. She helped Highland make the state tournament and finish 8-2 in the regular season. Expect her and the Highland Hornets to be right back in the mix this year.</p>
