Prep Girls Hoops spent earlier this week at Green Sea Floyds HS in Northern Horry County taking in action at the Conway Medical Center Thanksgiving Tournament. Prep Girls Hoops already talked about some 8th-9th graders in a previous article. Let's take a look at some older kids right here on your source for basketball coverage in the Palmetto State.
[player_tooltip player_id="348140" first="JaLynn" last="Johnson"] (2022) - Loris HS (pictured on front)
Johnson just throws her body around all over the floor. JaLynn earns every foul she gets while taking out on a defender. Nobody has to tell her to play hard. JaLynn can defend bigger post players and step-out on the perimeter and defend a guard. JaLynn brings a complete effort every time she touches the floor competitive edge to win you games with her attitude.

[player_tooltip player_id="348141" first="J’allyssa" last="Bellamy"] (2022) - Loris HS
Bellamy was up and down today with her play. She mostly does her damage on the perimeter for the Lady Lions. Bellamy didn't hesitate once not to dive on the floor for a loose ball or grab a rebound. J'allyssa sure doesn't lack confidence in her play while on the floor.

[player_tooltip player_id="207413" first="Kennedi" last="McLean"] (2022) - Carolina Forest HS
Kennedi plays the game aggressive and at times she gets into early foul trouble. Kennedi was able to size carve out space today while posting up. Over the years today was the most assertive and physical I had seen her play down on the block. McLean can be a space eater while making room to receive the ball down low.
[player_tooltip player_id="255750" first="Zykeria" last="Valentine"] (2022) - Fox Creek HS
Valentine has a good feel for the game playing the point guard position for the Lady Predators. Zykeria was ablet to drop a few floaters in the lane for some buckets. She felt a bit passive at times to shoot outside on the perimeter. Zykeria plays the game at a good pace and never seemed to force anything on the floor today.

[player_tooltip player_id="342515" first="Jyshae" last="Pope"] (2022) - Green Sea Floyds HS
Pope was too much for the Andrews HS Yellow Jackets to handle down low on the block. Pope finished the game with 12 points including a game tying free throw to make it 36-36 with 3.7 seconds left. Jyshae was able to use her body and post up down low all night long.

Amauri Gibson (2023) - Andrews HS
Gibson is the primary ball ball-handler in the Lady Yellow Jackets backcourt. Gibson made some timely passes at times today to keep her teammates happy and in the game. Gibson finished with 11 points in an overtime loss to Green Sea Floyds HS.
Claire Carmichael (2023) - Marlboro Academy
Carmichael helped the Lady Dragons to a victory over the Carvers Bay HS in the 3rd place game. Carmichael is best suited off the ball and making some perimeter jumpers.

[player_tooltip player_id="250480" first="Jerchel" last="Geathers"] (2024) - Carvers Bay HS
Geathers came to play today for the Lady Bears. Geathers dominated in the post in a losing cause today with 23 points and 13 rebounds according my unofficial stats. Jerchel understands on how to use her frame and body down low to make space. Geathers is very nimble with her footwork up and down the floor.
