PD Super Scrimmage: Versatile Wings

<p class="p1">Providence Day hosted a super scrimmage to kick off the high school season, and it was certainly full of talent from across the state.<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>Here are some of the more versatile wings I saw over the weekend.</p> <p class="p1"><b>[player_tooltip player_id="260511" first="Reece" last="Johnston"] | South Meck | 2022</b></p> <p class="p1">Johnston moves all over the court including getting inside to grab a rebound.<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>She is sneaky when it comes to making backdoor cuts leaving her opponent spinning trying to figure out where she went.<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>She knocked down some shots from behind the three point line scoring from all over the court.<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>She did a great job on fast breaks knowing when to take the ball to the hoop herself or pass it off to a teammate.</p> <p class="p1"><b>[player_tooltip player_id="116898" first="Senali" last="Moss"] | South Meck | 2022</b></p> <p class="p1">Moss is a tough defender keeping her opponent in front of her and jumping into passing lanes.<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>She’s smart with her steals, especially when she slows up to wait for numbers or speeds up to push the fast break.<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>She finds her way to the basket with passes or dribbling it all the way on her own.<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>She extends possessions for her team following shots and grabbing rebounds.</p> <p class="p1"><b>[player_tooltip player_id="202002" first="Evangelia" last="Paulk"] | Asheville Christian Academy | 2023</b></p> <p class="p1">Paulk uses her height to be dominant on the court.<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>She can handle the ball driving it all the way to the hoop, or she can step back for a nice jumper.<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>She’s a tough defender making it difficult for people to get by her using her height and her IQ to anticipate what the defense is going to do.</p> <p class="p1"><b>[player_tooltip player_id="261175" first="Laniya" last="Scales"] | Quality Education Academy | 2024</b></p> <p class="p1">Scales uses her height to get involved all over the court.<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>She follows shots going after rebounds, and she puts back up offensive boards for her points.<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>She has a nice shot from deep.<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>She does a great job seeing the floor making nice passes to her teammates flashing down the lane.<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>She scores well even with her back to the basket.</p> <p class="p1"><b>[player_tooltip player_id="253286" first="Reese" last="Wilson"] | Myers Park | 2024</b></p> <p class="p1">Wilson easily pushed the ball up the court herself using fakes to throw off opponents on her way to an old fashioned three point play.<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>She hit some clutch three point shots late in a close game for her team showing off her versatility all over the court.<span class="Apple-converted-space">  </span>She has a nice flow with the game knowing exactly where to move to contribute for her team.</p>
