While I did already cover the expos top shooters, I thought it would be fitting to also take a look at who displayed more than just a shooting ability, but also showed that they know how to score more ways than one. With so many good shooters and scorers I saw take part at the Prep Girls Hoops top 250 expo, I would love to just acknowledge every single player who competed, but unfortunately, I can only highlight the best of the best, and these were some of the best scorers that I saw at the PGH Oregon Top 250 Expo. [player_tooltip player_id="158559" first="Malaya" last="LeSueur"] | Wing | Benson Polytechnic | 2023 [caption id="attachment_344453" align="alignright" width="300"] [player_tooltip player_id="158559" first="Malaya" last="LeSueur"][/caption] I mentioned in a previous article I recently posted to not be surprised to see [player_tooltip player_id="158559" first="Malaya" last="LeSueur"] on more of these lists, and it’s not surprising to me that she would also show up as a top scorer at the expo. On top of her great shooting display from three, LeSueur showed that she is a multi level scorer who can score on defenses in many ways then one. She showed a terrific ability to finish with both her dominant and non-dominant hand, and her quickness and athleticism made her very hard to stay in front of with her drives. The basketball IQ is there, and LeSueur really impressed me with her ability to share the ball to set up her teammates to score, as well as her dynamic scoring prowess that makes her one of the best players to watch on the court whenever she’s on it. [player_tooltip player_id="207834" first="Lindsay" last="Barden"] | Guard | Sam Barlow | 2022 [caption id="attachment_344465" align="alignleft" width="300"] [player_tooltip player_id="207834" first="Lindsay" last="Barden"][/caption] Watching [player_tooltip player_id="207834" first="Lindsay" last="Barden"] play was a joy to watch. Despite her size, Barden was always playing with tons of heart and energy. She has the ability to drive aggressively to the rim and get easy buckets around the paint. She can get around double teams and is more then tough enough to initiate contact and finish tough shots. Not only was her inside game solid, she was very capable of knocking down open shots from the outside as well, and her teammates seemed to really trust her with the ball when time was running down. Barden is always looking for the easy points, and whether that be finding her own shot, or getting her teammates open, she is someone who understands the best way to score points. Jazmine Davidson | Forward | Clackamas | 2025 One of the best scorers, and honestly, one of the best players I saw at the expo, Jazmine Davidson has seen her name pop up multiple times already in these expo coverages and for good reason too. Davidson showed that she is a multi level scorer who is capable of doing so many different things on the basketball court. Her length and skillset is a match made in heaven, as she can blow by defenders with ease and attack the basket every chance she gets. If she doesn’t feel like driving the lane, she has no issue with hitting a jump shot in her defenders grill. She is a player who can go on a run all by herself. You look away for five minutes and she can go from six points to sixteen points in a flash. One of the best scorers in her class, I can’t wait to see how she improves from here. Diamond Wright | Wing | Sheldon | 2025 Diamond Wright is another young player who I am really looking forward to scouting for these next couple of years. Another player who is very crafty with the ball, and is more than capable of bullying over defenders to get to the basket. She presented the ability to finish with both hands, and her offensive rebounding and put backs for her size was very impressive. I can tell that defenses were having trouble keeping track of both Diamond Wright and [player_tooltip player_id="158559" first="Malaya" last="LeSueur"], as they showed that both of them on the same team can be dangerous. Wright was hitting shots from the corner, and was a threat near the elbow as well. Her athleticism is solid for her age and height, and only will get better from here. She is quick and has good bounce, which makes her even more frustrating to guard. [caption id="attachment_344430" align="alignright" width="300"] Diamond Wright[/caption] Jordan Leith | Guard | Meadowdale | 2023 One of the best shooters I saw at the expo, Leith makes this list primarily because of her perimeter shooting. Jordan Leith showed that she can heat up when she sees her shot going in. A solid catch and shoot player, she was someone who her teammates trusted to make a shot when nobody else could. She knows her spots on the court, and her quick feet makes her hard to stay in front of. Leith is always ready for her shot, and provides exquisite floor spacing which helps her and her team. When I watch Leith shoot, nine times out of ten I think the shot is going in. She carries herself with confidence and that confidence shows in her shooting ability. If she can keep this up, I can see her becoming one of the best shooters in the state of Washington. Kara Roberts | Guard | Lakeridge | 2025 Another player who showed that she knows how to hit from outside, Kara Roberts really impressed me with her scoring ability from the perimeter, but genuinely shocked me when I saw how she was able to quickly get by bigger defenders and create spacing for her shots. Despite her size, Roberts was one of the best shooters and scores I saw at the expo. A real microwave type player, one she hits a couple shots in a row it’s the defenses best interest to try and double. She showed that she also has a deadly floater in her arsenal that helps her get shots up taller, post players. Kara Roberts has the fundamentals of a jump shot down, and once she sets her feet and squares up to the basket, that shot can be automatic. If she can put up ten to fifteen shots a game, I would not be surprised to see her averaging double digit numbers every game. Her shot is that good. [player_tooltip player_id="158514" first="Cali" last="Denson"] | Guard | Milwaukee | 2022 [player_tooltip player_id="158514" first="Cali" last="Denson"] showed that she knows how to handle and control the ball, and with that skill it helped her create easy looks around the basket. A reliable shooter, Denson displayed patience and a quick release that helped her be able to shoot over her defenders. She is smart when handling the ball, and canweave in and out with ease and makes the game look slow for her. Denson knows when she has a good shot, and is smart enough that she can pass up a good look to a great look. I liked watching Denson score, and her feathery jump shot will help her go a long way in her playing career, and if she continues to shoot like how I saw her shooting at the expo, she will be a great player. Side note, I don’t think I saw anybody communicate better with her team than [player_tooltip player_id="158514" first="Cali" last="Denson"], and was very impressed by how much of a leader she looked out there. Naomi Senato | Wing | Emerald Ridge | 2024 I really liked what I saw out of Naomi Senato. She showed that she is a solid all around player who is a multi level [caption id="attachment_344457" align="alignright" width="300"] Naomi Senato[/caption] scorer if she chooses to be. A great glue girl, Senato displayed a tremendous ability to drive and attack the basket on multiple occasions. When shots weren’t falling, Senato would try to get the easy baskets by driving in the lane and finishing around shot blockers, or she was able to draw the foul. She showed that she is a great catch and shoot player and has a solid mid range game as well. Another underrated aspect of her game is her ability to hit free throws too. From what I saw, I didn’t see her miss any. Senato showed that she has a great feel for the game, and her intelligence and basketball IQ can help her go a long way if she keeps it up. Senato was ace, and one of my favorite players to watch.
