Prep Girls Predictions:
1.North Augusta HS – The Lady Yellow Jackets finished (15-2) and fell in the 2nd Round of the Playoffs to North Myrtle Beach HS.
2.Aiken HS – The Hornets were (8-3) last season and have some young good talent coming up for Head Coach Aubrey Pompey.
3.South Aiken HS – The Lady Thoroughbreds could sneak up on some teams this coming season.
4.Airport HS – Can Ja’sia Booth Ja’sia Booth 5'4" | PG Airport | 2025 State SC carry the team ?
5.Midland Valley HS (Graniteville) – The Lady Mustangs managed a (1-9) season last year.
Peris Smith Peris Smith 6'2" | PF North Augusta | 2023 State SC (2023) – North Augusta HS – Prep Girls Preseason Region Player of the Year (pictured on front)
Smith is patrolling the paint for Head Coach Al Young this season and is the Prep Girls Preseason Region Player of the Year. Peris averaged 7.9 ppg and 9.2 rebounds last season and look for those numbers to jump this coming season. Peris at times plays the game with a mean streak and tough nosed mindset while on the floor. Smith is not afraid at all to mix it up and dive for a loose ball on the floor. You can always expect for Peris to bring it every night along with a few floor burns.
Anija Jones Anija Jones 5'9" | SG South Aiken | 2022 State SC (2022) – South Aiken HS
Jones transferred into South Aiken HS after playing last season at Denmark-Olar HS. Anija played her sophomore season at Aiken HS. Jones is geared to play in a up-tempo style of play it seems. Anija moves well without the ball in her hands and always seems to be shot ready to receive a pass. Can she lead the Lady Thoroughbreds this coming season ?
Quantashia Davis Quantashia Davis 6'0" | PF Aiken | 2022 State SC (2022) – Aiken HS (pictured on front)
Davis had a strong showing this summer at the SCBCA Top 100 Camp in Rock Hill. Quantashia does a good job of running the floor and playing active in the passing lanes. She has a good nose for the ball and will manufacture points on put-backs on the glass.
Arin Moore Arin Moore 6'2" | C North Augusta | 2022 State SC (2022) – North Augusta HS
Moore a post player grabbed 6.4 rebounds a night last season for the Lady Yellow Jackets. Arin plays with her back to the basket and can carve out space down low on the block.
Zuri Goldsberry Zuri Goldsberry 5'6" | CG Greenbrier | 2023 State GA (2023) – North Augusta HS
Goldsberry played really a couple months back at the Prep Girls Hoops Top 250 Expo in Myrtle Beach. Zuri averaged 11 ppg last season for the Yellow Jackets. Zuri feels most comfortable while on attack to the cup as a slasher deluxe. Goldsberry creates havoc with constant nose for the ball.
Jakiah McDuffie Jakiah McDuffie 5'6" | PG South Aiken | 2024 State SC (2024) – South Aiken HS
McDuffie good minutes last season as a freshman for the Lady Thoroughbreds. Jakiah can drop the floater in lane on a regular basis while playing the game always under-control while on the floor. McDuffie keeps the ball on a strong with both hands. Prep Girls Hoops first saw her play last season in the She Got Game event at Brookland Cayce HS in a loss to Lexington HS 59-50.
Ja’sia Booth Ja’sia Booth 5'4" | PG Airport | 2025 State SC (2025) – Airport HS
Ja’sia averaged 13.3 ppg last season as a 8th grader.
Celena Grant Celena Grant 5'9" | SF North Augusta | 2026 State SC (2026) – North Augusta HS
Celena is the future of basketball here in the Palmetto State. Grant just a 8th grader this coming season for the Lady Yellow Jackets. Celena averaged 6.7 ppg and 7.8 rebounds last season as 7th grader on the varsity level.
