Prep Girls Hoops Predictions:
1.Bishop England – The Battling Bishops played in the Class 3A State Championship Game last year before losing to Keenan HS.
2.Oceanside Collegiate (Mount Pleasant) – The Lady Landsharks finished (7-7) last year.
3.Battery Creek HS – Will the Lady Dolphins make some noise this season after going (6-6) last year.
4.North Charleston HS – Deniesha Bennamon takes over the reins from Haley Weed this season on the Lady Cougars sideline. Bennamon a former standout at Goose Creek HS is currently a police officer in North Charleston. The Lady Cougars won the Class 2A State title just 2 years ago in March 2020.
5.Hanahan HS – The Lady Hawks finished (1-13) last season.
6.Academic Magnet (North Charleston) – The Lady Raptors could surprise some teams this season.
Ally Dominiak Ally Dominiak 5'5" | PG Bishop England | 2022 State SC (2022) – Bishop England – Prep Girls Hoops Preseason Region Player of the Year (pictured on front)
Ally recently returned to play since being hurt this summer on the Grassroots Circuit with the Charleston Swarm. Dominiak really did a good job of stuffing the stat sheet last season for the Green and White. Ally averaged 12.2 ppg, 3.9 steals, 3.1 rebounds and 2.2 assists for the Battling Bishops (12-2). Bishop England defeated Camden HS in the 2nd Round and Orangeburg-Wilkinson HS in the Lower State Championship Game. Dominiak plays the game to the fullest and is always around the ball to make a play.
Princess Scott Princess Scott 6'1" | C Bishop England | 2022 State SC (2022) – Bishop England
Scott plays with her back to the basket and really likes playing the game on contact down low. Princess averaged 7.6 ppg and 8.4 rebounds last season. Scott can carve out space and finish over both shoulders down low.
Ella Schar Ella Schar 5'10" | PF Bishop England | 2022 State SC (2022) – Bishop England
Schar can extend the defense to the elbow with a soft jumper or play with her back to the basket. Ella is just another piece to a very talented roster for longtime Head Coach Paul Runey.
Kiara Wilson Kiara Wilson 5'5" | PG Battery Creek | 2023 State SC (2023) – Battery Creek HS (Beaufort)
Wilson is back to run the show for the Lady Dolphins offense.
Tynasjia Ford Tynasjia Ford 6'0" | C Oceanside Collegiate | 2024 State SC (2024) – Oceanside Collegiate
Ford is a space eater in the paint with a great set of hands. Tynasjia has a great looking stroke from the foul line. Ford averaged 9.9 ppg and 9.5 rebounds last season for the Lady Landsharks. Ford played on the local front with S.H.O.T.S. United when it came to summer basketball. I’m seeing Ford have a breakout season for OCA.
Ashtyn Adams Ashtyn Adams 5'10" | PF Hanahan | 2024 State SC (2024) – Hanahan HS
Adams and the Lady Hawks have to make a lot of improvements from last years team. Ashtyn came on the scene a bit this summer running with Coastal Select on the Grassroots Circuit. Adams showed some good glimpses this summer and still has plenty of time to make strides down the road with her play.
