Scrimmage Week Notes: Forwards

<strong>2024 6-0 F [player_tooltip player_id="253976" first="Allie" last="Sweet"] – River Ridge</strong> Not often has Kell been outrebounded or beaten as badly over the past three years as they were on Wednesday. The Knights won the battle on the boards 53-33 large in part thanks to [player_tooltip player_id="253976" first="Allie" last="Sweet"], the long-armed volleyball star posting 9 points, 18 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 steal and 1 block. Sweet has an uncanny ability to get off the floor quickly and high-point rebounds. Sweet is a premier offensive rebounder and a nuisance on defense with her ability to alter shots. If she continues to develop her basketball skills, she will draw a lot of college attention. <strong>2025 5-11 F [player_tooltip player_id="350683" first="Kayla" last="Cleaveland"] – River Ridge</strong> Fresh off the volleyball court, Kayla Cleveland made a monster first impression. The strong-bodied rugged forward made an impact right away. Cleveland banged inside, physically sealing off opponents when fighting for post position. The lefty has a soft touch in the paint but also can stretch the floor and shoot the three. Cleveland helped handle the ball on the perimeter in spurts and was able to attack off the bounce when driving lanes opened. Cleveland even showcased nice court vision as a passer. Kayla finished with 9 points, 6 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal and 2 blocks. She is a name to remember. <strong>2022 5-11 F [player_tooltip player_id="302946" first="Gracie" last="Deetz"] – Rabun County</strong> The Emmanuel-commit used her length and touch to score in the paint. Deetz was effective on the offensive glass, finishing with 10 points, 8 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 blocks. Gracie is a mismatch with her ability to shoot the ball and stretch the floor. <strong>2023 5-9 F Mary Lovell – Rabun County</strong> An unsung hero, Lovell does the dirty work off the bench. She throws her body around and bangs inside. Mary is aggressive and will put pressure on opponents with her motor. She had 2 points, 6 rebounds and 3 steals. <strong>2023 6-1 C Claire Beckman – White County</strong> Only a junior, Claire Beckman has a chance to develop over her final two seasons. She is a sturdy post that understands her role. Beckman gets on the offensive boards and earns second chances. She is a physical screen setter. Beckman had 5 points and 5 rebounds in a 59-57 loss at Rabun County. <strong>2023 5-10 F [player_tooltip player_id="254159" first="Jada" last="Green"] – Kell</strong> Green was a bright spot for Kell. Jada has blossomed into one of the best rim protectors Class 6A has to offer. She doesn’t rely on elite height or length to block shots, but her timing and knowledge of when to contest. She recorded 8 points, 12 rebounds, 1 steal and 5 blocks. She is a really steady prospect that could draw some non-D-I looks soon.
