The two traveled to Kissimmee, FL for the 2021 KSA Basketball Holiday Tournament and in the Pink Pool, Bishop Eustace took the crown with a 45-40 win over Sunbright (TN).
Absegami bowed out in the quarterfinals of the Orange Pool in a close 51-48 loss to Pisgah (AL).
Here are some of the standouts from this tournament from the two New Jersey representatives.
Reese Downey – Absegami
The freshman has been outstanding so far for Absegami and in the three games they played, she averaged 15.0 PPG including a 16-point, six-assist, five-steal performance in the lone win of the tournament for the Braves, a 49-46 win over Gardiner (ME). Downey’s four made three-pointers against Pisgah (AL) tied a season-high as well.
Allie Serlenga Allie Serlenga SF Bishop Eustace | 2024 NJ – Bishop Eustace
Serlenga came up big throughout the tournament for the Crusaders, including 13 points in the Pink Pool bracket final against Sunbright (TN). She averaged 9.7 PPG over the three games and is well on her way to setting career-highs across the board in her sophomore season for Bishop Eustace.
Lexi Ciampi – Bishop Eustace
The Crusaders won their three games by a combined 10 points and scored an average of 38.7 PPG in those games, 8.0 of which coming from Ciampi. Her senior season has gone extremely well so far, and her 10-point performance in the final against Sunbright has been the highlight to date. Expect more impact minutes coming from Ciampi as the season progresses.
Jackie Fortis – Absegami
Fortis has had an up-and-down high school career, playing just 38 games through her first three seasons, but she’s found her stride as a senior. The tournament helped in a big way as she averaged 8.0 PPG in three games. Her 11 points against Gardiner was her second game this season scoring in double-figures, which is a positive sign as this season goes on.
