2026 Glimpse of What’s Coming #Next100
I had a chance to cover PassThaBall’s Next 100 in Duncanville, I have been covering her events since the 2013 HoopAHolics event which featured over 130 players including last seasons #1 WNBA pick, Charli Collier as well as a couple of players lighting it up in college, in a huge way, Deyona Gaston (Texas) and Deja Kelly (North Carolina) to name a few so it’s always important for me to get a jump on what’s coming, as well as watching players “add to their games” because progression on the court is key so I caught players with next-level potential, players who will play somewhere at the next level including #D1 and beyond at the #Next100 so here we go, Ava Miles Ava Miles 6'0" | SG Staley | 2026 State MO & Journee Johnson are pictured on the front page, both have been LOCKED in
Mya Alston (ball) Jaclyn Silva
Ava Miles Ava Miles 6'0" | SG Staley | 2026 State MO -6’0 G (Della Lamb) MO
Miles is “long and athletic” and remember, that is the base yet the treble gets turned up when she has the ball in her hands because she is explosive off the dribble and scores with either hand, after contact. Some of that is because of her power, some because of her body control yet she also can handle the ball in the open court, this came in handy because she plays the passing lane and that ledt to baskets, so did her jumper but she rebounds on both ends and defends
Journee Johnson-5’10 F (Cy Fair) LA
Johnson also is long and athletic yet she has the right initials, JJ, because when she’s on the floor, Good Times are coming, why do I say that, well, she’s DYNOMITE and as much as I loved her attacking the basket and finishing acrobatically, as well as dropping the stop and pop jumpers, her court vision coupled with her ball handling got her teammates easy looks but she plays the passing lane and with her very good timing, she was able to block shots as well as play solid defense
Mya Alston-5’9 G (BTR) OK
Alston is, you guessed it, long and athletic, yet she seems to take it to yet another level every chance I get to see her. She appears to have grown just a tad yet her wingspan is above “the magic number” which is 6’0 however the magic begins on the floor as she reads the defense, aka play the passing the lane yet her pull-up jumper is something to deal with, especially since she can attack off the dribble as well as use her court vision so trying to contain her is going to be an issue
Aliyah Duval-5’8 CG (BTR) OK
Duval tricked me and I told her “I can’t call you Lil Duval” anymore after her growth spurt but she can attack the rim with either hand as well as score, with either hand, after contact yet she understands something that is very valuable, how to “create contact” which will make her “an and one’ waiting to happen. She hustles after loose balls, she handles the ball as well as makes on the passes yet her court vision coupled with that pull-up jumper is something else
Serenity Massey-5’5 PG
Massey mixes up her offense so well it’s almost like a desert because the pull-up as well her first step are definitely sweet yet that crossover is “icing on the cake” yet she creates her shot so well at this stage that I can only imagine, wait I already envision on what’s coming because that explosiveness as well as finishing strongly will create some problems for defenders yet on the flip, she applies plenty of heat on the defensive end as well
Tyanna Stewart-5’9 F (Cy Fair)
Stewart has me thinking I should have done a “long and athletic” Tip Sheet yet her deceptive first step enables her to blow defenders from the wing and she can either drop the pull-up or finish at the rim. I enjoyed seeing her play the passing lane andhandling the ball after the steal, this will be a huge plus down the road but so is her defense, on the ball which at times was smothering and let me also add she rebounds on both ends of the court
Ari Gregory-5’7 G (Drive Nation)
Gregory uses her power very well, she understands positioning and rebounded over taller players yet that same power allowed her to finish on on putbacks as well as around the basket and I’m talking about after contact. Solid defender, inside and outside the paint yet she also did a good job attacking the rim from multiple angles which was nice, so was her facing the basket and scoring, I also love her upside
Sarah Brown (ball) Jamari Milton
Sarah Brown-5’6 G (Pro Skills)
Brown had me thinking “I Feel Good” as I watched her gracefully create her shot under pressure and drop multiple long balls before the games began yet I felt weeven better as they went in while she had a hand in her face. Her midrange is nice, so is her attacking off the dribble yet she understands how to create her shot very well and doesn’t force anything. Her change of pace in the open court is ahead of her years, she plays the passing lane and sees the floor
Jordyn Burton-5’8 G (Pro Skills)
Burton is heady and watching her create her shot under pressure to either attack the rim, she finishes strongly after contact, or attack and dish to teammates, she sees the floor very well yet she also used her creativity to drop the jumper with the pull-up, that also worked well in transition as she showed a nice “stop and pop” jumper so the multiple ways she can do damage on the offensive end was nice, so was her defense
Kezlye Strain-5’5 PG (West Texas Shockers)
Strain is also heady, I’ve watched her several times over the past year and I sort of knew what was coming, yeah she can score with the jumper, mid to long range, by creating her shot yet she ke[t the defense guessing as she used several moves to attack the basket and score off the dribble yet she sees the floor and makes those “thread the needle” passes look easy yet her court vision as well as the multiple ways to score will put a STRAIN on defenders
Jaclyn Silva-5’3 PG (Pro Skils)
Silva didn’t give me many notes to write, why, because I only put “whenever she wants” and that means she got to the rim as well as showed the jumper, whenever she wanted to. She understands how to control the tempo and her ability to either be a facilitator that just sets teammates up for baskets or take over offensively is pretty impressive yet her poise under pressure always does it for me. She brings it every time she steps on the court and she has good hands, came away with several steals
Jamari Melton-5’6 PG (Team Strive)
Melton will have defenders melting in n the future because her HEZ as well as her CROSSOVER are next level ready, right now. Her intensity on both ends was very nice as she attacks and finishes after the lick and her “on the ball” defense created turnovers yet her ability to create her shot with the moves mentioned above as well as a very good first step also enabled her to show the jumper, which she also showed after playing the passing lane
Averie Steele-6’1 PF (Just Play)
Steele has the right last name as she literally finishes with players hanging on her. I’ve watched her expand her game closely the past two seasons and how can I put this, “trouble is coming for defenders” because of the only word I wrote by her name, PUNISHES and when you can apply pressure on both ends like she can, at this stage, it will be easy for her to be a “double-double” waiting to happen because of her skill set and mindset yet the upside is scary
Torrin Johnson-5’5 G (Higher Goals)
Johnson has pull-up by her name so many times because she showed it in the drills as well as the games yet the game is ready for her to explode, which she does off the dribble and watching her attack from, well everywhere was nice yet that outside shot gave her options, so did her ability to see the floor but when you factor everything in, like her battling taller players for rebounds as well as doing a good job defending, I’m dropping the mic
