The top 15 of the ’24 rankings have been shaken up! New prospects who have popped on my radar this fall, along with stock-risers, have made this list very interesting. Below are a few players who have seen a jump in their ranking since September.

[player_tooltip player_id="292683" first="Ines" last="Goryanova"] - Putnam Science - 5’7’’ - PG
Rank: #2
Goryanova is the best point guard in the ’24 class and the only player I can see challenge [player_tooltip player_id="264332" first="Natalia" last="Hall-Rosa"] as the #1 player overall. She is Putnam Science’s leading scorer and the engine that makes the team go. Goryanova has it all. She can shoot it from any spot on the floor, is excellent in pick and roll action, is an incredible finisher with either hand and her iQ is off the charts. Goryanova’s mental makeup stood out when I watched her at practice a few weeks back. She has a killer’s mentality, leadership intangibles, and she can maximize the players’ talent around her. Goryanova embodies everything I want from the best player on my team, and her skill set is well above the majority of the ’24 class.

Rank: #5
Muhammad was unbelievable this past fall and showed what kind of force she could be on offense as the #1 or #2 option. At Nobles this winter, she will not be asked to carry the scoring load, but she will have to continue to play elite-level defense. Muhammud has proven to be one of the best on-ball defenders in her class with one of the highest defensive IQ’s which was put to the test against Marianapolis a week ago. She never backs down from a challenge no matter who the matchup is and plays with maximum effort giving the Nobles’ bench some serious punch.

[player_tooltip player_id="329033" first="Paika" last="Van Der Maas"] - Choate Rosemary Hall - 6’1’’ - SF
Rank: #7
By season’s end, Van Der Maas can be a top 3-5 prospect. After watching Choate’s practice the other week, I got to see Van Der Maas’ size and passing ability up close, and she can fit the ball into tight windows as well as anyone. At her position, she is a top 3 passer. Van Der Maas is in rare air with [player_tooltip player_id="264332" first="Natalia" last="Hall-Rosa"] and [player_tooltip player_id="269260" first="Ashley" last="Dinges"] as point forwards who can be primary ball handlers, playmakers, and impactful off the ball. She doesn’t have the strength and rebounding ability as the other two prospects but has the IQ and court vision to take over games.

[player_tooltip player_id="296653" first="Ke’iara" last="Odume"] - Loomis Chaffee - 5’9’’ - CG
Rank: #14
After watching Odume at the Connecticut Top 30 Showcase in November, putting her in the top 15 was a no-brainer. Her unique combination of size, strength, and athleticism at the combo guard spot gives her a monster advantage on the perimeter because her handle is as tight as anyone on this list. Odume is unstoppable going to the basket and is a very good shot-creator in the mid-range.

[player_tooltip player_id="267180" first="Kailee" last="McDonald"] - Bradford Christian Academy 5’9’’ - SG
Rank: #15
I have watched McDonald the past month, and she has been on fire! She has been the most consistent scorer for Bradford Christian Academy and has been pouring in big offensive efforts like it is nothing. Tuesday evening, at Putnam Science, McDonald dropped 23 points and the game-winning three on a night that top 5 ’24 prospect [player_tooltip player_id="269245" first="Kelian" last="Cedano"] struggled to get going. McDonald’s ability to pick up the scoring slack, knock down outside shots consistently, and defend both guard positions effectively has earned her a spot in the top 15.
