The Baron Classic took place this past weekend in Sumter at Wilson Hall. The event featured 8 SCISA schools throughout the Palmetto State and Augusta Christian (GA). Let’s take a look at some ladies who made quite a First Impression on us here at Prep Girls Hoops.

[player_tooltip player_id="363510" first="Jessica" last="Dowdy"] (2022) - Augusta Christian (Martinez, GA)
Dowdy a left-handed guard will play at Flagler College (FL) (NCAA D2) next season. Dowdy transferred into Augusta Christian this past off season from nearby Evans HS. Jessica scored the game winner converting a 3-point play on the opening night of the Baron Classic to fend off Hilton Head Prep. Dowdy finished the game with 22 points.
Jessica plays the game very aggressively and really looks to attack the cup when she’s not letting it fly from behind the arc. Dowdy logs a lot of minutes on floor and never seems to come off the floor.
[player_tooltip player_id="364235" first="Emma" last="Moore"] (2022) - Hilton Head Prep
Moore was a not surprise here today for the Lady Dolphins. Emma stayed around the paint and delivered a solid punch and production. Moore was able to finish inside and move well away from the ball while staying active on the floor.
[player_tooltip player_id="363183" first="Katie" last="Campbell"] (2022) - Hilton Head Prep (pictured on front)
Katie moved in this fall from Dayton, OH along with her sister [player_tooltip player_id="363182" first="Courtney" last="Campbell"]. Campbell attended Beavercreek HS before coming to the Lowcountry. Katie plays the game very fundamentally sound with bounce passes, taking charges and being vocal on the floor. Katie can score the ball from the perimeter and has great range on her shot. She never looked to force any shots here today with her play for the Lady Dolphins.

Ryn Grubbs (2022) - Orangeburg Prep
Grubbs came up big time after time today for the Lady Indians. Grubbs isn't flashy at all with her play, but she's very shot selective and productive. Ryn kept the Lady Indians in the game vs Augusta Christian making some key shots down the stretch before losing in overtime. She finished the game with 16 points.

Emily Frick (2023) - Heathwood Hall
Frick came out on fire on Day 2 vs Pinewood Prep. Emily was extremely effective knocking down mid-range jumpers from the right side of the floor. She showed to have a nice shot release and good shot selection all day long for the Highlanders. Frick finished with 17 points in the win while connecting on a handful of three pointers.
