This past Saturday I made my way out to Fremd High School for the 7th annual Chicagoland Invitational Girl’s Basketball Showcase. I was only able to watch the morning and early afternoon games, but here are a group of Underclassmen who stood out from those contests:
2025 [player_tooltip player_id="352113" first="Ella" last="Todd"], 5’11” Guard, Fremd
A highly touted prospect in Illinois’ Freshman Class, Todd is a lengthy and athletic Shooting Guard who scores the ball at a high rate from anywhere on the floor. Ella is a reliable ball-handler who can knock down jumpers from deep on a consistent basis, or attack from the wing and convert at the rim using a variety of moves in the lane.
2024 [player_tooltip player_id="335797" first="Brynn" last="Eshoo"], 6’1” Forward, Fremd
Eshoo is a skilled Forward who is constantly active on both ends of the court to put herself in a good position to make a play. Brynn provides great versatility on offense with her ability to handle the ball and make jump shots, and uses her athleticism on the defensive end to guard the perimeter and step inside to make things difficult for opposing post players.
2024 Jaeda Murphy, 5’2” Guard, Homewood-Flossmoor
A quick and shifty Point Guard who is tough to stay in front of in the open floor, Murphy impressed with her ball-handling skills and ability to shoot it from beyond the three-point line. Jaeda does a great job of making sure the ball is constantly moving on offense and consistently plays tough on-ball defense against opposing PG’s.
2024 [player_tooltip player_id="349414" first="Lana" last="Kerley"], 5’10” Guard, Lincoln-Way East
Kerley is a talented Guard who can play multiple positions with her ability to handle the ball and score from the wing. Lana shoots the ball very well from deep and uses her physicality to attack from the wing and score at the rim through contact.
2024 [player_tooltip player_id="335799" first="Meegan" last="Fahy"], 5’5” Guard, Maine South
An extremely skilled Point Guard who is always making plays at both ends of the floor, Fahy is a superb ball-handler who creates for herself and her teammates. Meegan scores the ball well at every level with a sound jump shot and crafty finishes around the rim, and gives a ton of effort on the defensive end, often creating takeaways and turning them into easy fast break buckets.
2024 [player_tooltip player_id="349441" first="Madison" last="Davis"], 5’9” Guard, Marian Catholic
Davis is a Shooting Guard with a high ceiling due to her versatility and ability to score points at volume from anywhere on the court. Madison is a knock down shooter from beyond the three-point line and excels at attacking the basket, using her length and strength to finish among defenders.
2024 [player_tooltip player_id="265985" first="Caitlin" last="Washington"], 5’9” Guard, Neuqua Valley
The #4 Ranked Player in Illinois’ Class of 2024, Washington put on a show with her dynamic playmaking abilities when the ball is in her hand. Caitlin scores the ball well from anywhere on the floor and uses her ball-handling skills, court vision, and accurate passing to set her teammates up for easy buckets.
2024 [player_tooltip player_id="335733" first="Kylee" last="Norkus"], 5’10” Guard, Neuqua Valley
Norkus is an athletic Combo Guard who can play any of the Guard positions with her ball-handling and scoring abilities. Kylee shoots it very well from deep and is always around the ball on the defensive end to take the ball away and create extra opportunities for her team.
