The bigger the opponent, the bigger the opponent. opponent, the better the performance. 18 points and 12 rebounds against Bolles, 22 points and 16 rebounds against Mandarin, and 16 points and 9 rebounds against Palatka. Blocton stands out because she performs well against good competition and sometimes she makes good players look average. Her combination of speed, quickness, and power is unmatched in high school ball on the First Coast. One of the most telling plays I saw her make was against Mandarin. She secured a rebound and looked for a guard to outlet to, but the guards were covered. Blocton instinctively dribbled the ball the full length of the court and finished with a layup. Blocton has been impressive all year. Her offensive skillset and her ability to defend in the paint and on the wing make her a special prospect.
Nacoya Blocton 2025, 6’0″ F (Ridgeview) Played well last week and especially against Mandarin. What was impressive about the Freshman forward was her ability to shoot from the outside and also handle the ball. Blocton recorded a double-double and down the stretch against Mandarin, she was a force. She recognized a mismatch in the post and she went into an “attack mode” that was really impressive. The younger Blocton showed some nice footwork on some up and under moves. For the season she is averaging over 8 points per game. She was the second-best rebounder on the court and down the stretch, she stepped it up and cut a 14 point lead to four in the last few moments.
Xaniya Jackson Xaniya Jackson 6'1" | PF Andrew Jackson | 2023 State FL 2023, 6’0” F (Andrew Jackson) played well against Bishop Kenny. She was active in the paint and rebounded well on the offensive and defensive end. Jackson recorded a few offensive rebounds and putbacks in the contest. She possesses soft hands and showed the ability to make the catch and finish under the goal. Defensively, Jackson recorded several blocks and played very well against two quality post players for Bishop Kenny ( Clare Coyle Clare Coyle 6'1" | PF Bishop Kenny | 2024 State FL and Sydney Roundtree Sydney Roundtree 6'0" | PF Bishop Kenny | 2024 State FL ). Jackson moved well for a big and did a good job of running the floor. Jackson also had a quality game against Oakleaf the previous week. Jackson performed well and was instrumental in that victory a few weeks ago. At times the Junior forward looked dominant.
Janiyah Jackson Janiyah Jackson 6'2" | C St Augustine | 2022 State FL 2022, 6’1” F (St Augustine). Jackson, who has signed with St. Leo beginning the Fall of 2022, has been a force this year averaging 16.3 rebounds and 13.8 rebounds for the young season. The Senior forward had a solid week four of high school. Earlier in the week, Jackson recorded a double-double against Nease (15 points and 13 rebounds). This came on the heel of an 18 point- 14 rebound performance earlier in the week against New Smyrna Beach. To further illustrate her dominant play this year, the Senior forward produced a 20 point – 18 rebound masterpiece. Jackson is also putting in the work on the defensive end of the floor. She is averaging nearly 4 blocks per game.
